Huge congratulations to our Mammoth Stars hockey teams on an incredible season! 🏒⭐️

The Mammoth Stars 10UB made history this weekend in San Jose, capturing the CAHA State Championship with a hard-fought 3–1 victory over the San Jose Jr. Sharks. In a game that stayed tight until the final minutes, the team showed resilience, grit, and heart—finishing their season with an outstanding 35–7 record. From starting the season without home ice to reaching the top of the state, this group proved what determination and belief can accomplish.

Shoutout as well to the Mammoth Stars 14UBB team, who battled their way to an impressive semi-final run. After bouncing back from early losses, they delivered a thrilling overtime win and nearly completed an unforgettable comeback in the semis, falling just short in a 5–4 nail-biter. Their toughness and refusal to quit earned respect across the tournament.

We’re especially proud to support these athletes as a sponsor of the league and to provide athletic training services that help keep them strong, healthy, and game-ready all season long.

From championship glory to hard-fought battles, both teams showed what “mountain heart” is all about. 💪

On Monday evening, Mammoth Hospital celebrated its Doctor of the Year, and we’re proud to share that this year’s honoree is Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Timothy Crall!

The nominations spoke volumes. Patients highlighted the exceptional care and dedication shown by Dr. Crall and his team, sharing stories of successful surgeries, smooth recoveries, and a return to pain-free living. Others expressed deep gratitude for being able to get back to the activities they love—like hitting the slopes again after serious injuries—thanks to his expertise. Longtime community members also recognized him as a standout physician in the Eastern Sierra, praising both his skill and his compassionate approach.

We love hearing from grateful patients whose lives we can make a positive difference in. Here’s a note from Jim A., a recent patient of Dr. Crall:

“Dr. Crall is the best! He operated and repaired my tibia fracture after a snowboard injury I suffered one year ago. I just wanted to thank him and his team. I was back out snowboarding in Mammoth this week. You’re the best, and I truly appreciate everything you did to get me back on the mountain. Thanks again!”

Jim shared this photo with us from his return to the slopes with his family (Jim is on the right). We couldn’t be more excited to see him doing what he loves again! 🙌🏂

The People Who Keep You in the Game

March is National Athletic Training Month, and this year we are recognizing the team behind the scenes and on the sidelines who make it possible for our community to stay active, safe, and strong.

From the field to the mountain to race day, our Athletic Trainers have you covered.

They are often the first to respond when an injury happens and the steady support guiding recovery every step of the way. From the sidelines at Mammoth High School and Bishop Union High School to the slopes of Mammoth Mountain, and throughout our Orthopedic and Physical Therapy clinics, they play a critical role in both immediate care and long-term recovery.

Working alongside our physicians and PAs, they help prevent injuries, assess and treat conditions, and support safe return to play, ensuring patients and athletes can get back to doing what they love.

This month, we are proud to recognize Zack, Ruriko, Jason, Sean, Sarah, Gage, Blake, and Mike for the skill, dedication, and compassion they bring to every interaction. Their impact is felt across our organization and throughout the communities we serve.

Nutrition Tip #4 from Dietitian Casey Michel for National Nutrition Month: Hydration 💧

Staying hydrated is key to feeling your best—here are some simple ways to keep it on track:

Choose beverages without added sugar:
• Water
• Sparkling (bubble) water
• Tea

Want more flavor?
• Add a lemon or lime wedge
• Infuse your water with fresh fruit

Sip consistently throughout the day—not just when you’re thirsty

A helpful goal: aim for pale yellow urine as a sign of good hydration
(Note: certain health conditions or medications may affect urine color.)

Small changes, big impact—cheers to better hydration!

Nutrition Tip #3 from Dietitian Casey Michel – Include Fermented Foods

Support your gut and overall health by adding fermented foods to your routine. These foods contain probiotics—live microorganisms that can benefit your health when consumed in adequate amounts.

Research shows probiotics may help support:
• Gut health
• Mental health & mood
• Sleep
• Reduced inflammation
• Hormone balance
• Urogenital health
• Glucose control and more

Fermented foods to try:
• Yogurt
• Kimchi
• Kefir
• Unpasteurized sauerkraut
• Kombucha
• Miso
• Fermented vegetables

Considering a probiotic supplement? Look for:
• Billions of CFUs (colony-forming units)
• Multiple strains of beneficial bacteria
• A strain targeted to your specific health need

Small additions can make a big difference for your gut health!

If you’re 45 or older, your colon just sent you a reminder.

It’s time to schedule your colonoscopy screening.

Colon cancer often starts without symptoms, but screening can find and remove precancerous polyps before they turn into cancer. That’s prevention in action.

Don’t wait for symptoms.
Screening = prevention.
