What a privilege to support John’s strength, mobility, and independence as he embarks on his centurion journey. 🇺🇸💪

🇺🇸 Honoring a Hero: John Wardell 🇺🇸

At 99 years old, John Wardell of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, stands as the last living member of the legendary 2nd Ranger Battalion. On June 16, 1944, just days after D-Day, he landed in France and took part in the historic assault on the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc—a mission that helped turn the tide of World War II.

Nearly 80 years later, Mr. Wardell returned to Normandy to honor his fallen brothers. Seated in the front row at the 80th anniversary ceremony, he was recognized by President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken for his extraordinary service.

In 2024, France awarded him the Légion d’Honneur, its highest military distinction, for his role in liberating Europe.

We salute you, Wardell—your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

👀 Ray first came to Active Physical Therapy in 2005 after injuring his knee. With dedicated therapy, he quickly regained strength and mobility, returning to his active lifestyle. In 2008, he came back for a back injury, and once again, the team helped him recover fully.

Years later, Ray returned for shoulder rehab, trusting Active Physical Therapy’s expertise to help him heal. But it was in recent years that his journey took a new turn when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. For the past two years, Ray has worked with his therapist using the Alter-G Anti-Gravity Treadmill, focusing on improving his gait, balance, and walking endurance.

Ray’s resilience and continued trust in Active Physical Therapy have been inspiring. From knee injury to Parkinson’s care, we’re proud to be part of his ongoing recovery and grateful for the trust he and his family have placed in us!
