The Samaritan Center at the Jersey Shore

We are a fully qualified 501 (c) 3 non profit organization. We work very hard to insure cost is not a barrier.

The mission of The Samaritan Center at the Jersey Shore is to provide hope and resiliency by providing professional counseling and prevention education and awareness programs. We are a non-profit corporation established to provide individual, couples and families with the inner strength and emotional resources to advance their emotional, spiritual, mental health and wellness with quality professional counseling and coaching services. Our staff is dedicated to integrating one’s faith and honors people from all backgrounds and beliefs.

The Samaritan Center at the Jersey Shore was honored to be the beneficiary of proceeds from the 2025 “Friends of Stroh & Osh” annual fundraiser at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, NJ.

Executive Director, Susan Tellone and board member, Steve Jacobus, joined the annual reunion of Upsala College classmates on December 4, 2025, to celebrate the lives of William Strohmenger and Michael O'Shaughnessy. The group generously raised over $7,000, which will assist in continuing Samaritan Center’s mission.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tom Staugaitis and Wally Friedauer for organizing the event and send our most sincere appreciation for their continued support. 💙💛

Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or Dementia can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone.

The Samaritan Center at the Jersey Shore is here to support you. Join our Graduate Mental Health Intern, Samantha Myers, for our newest Caregiver Support Group, meeting in person every Thursday at 1:00 PM.

This weekly group is designed to help you navigate the emotional and physical stress that comes with being an empathic caregiver. Connect with others who understand your journey, share your experiences, and learn strategies to care for both your loved one and yourself.
