Constructed in 1975, the Animal Services Center is an open admission facility that houses sick, injured, or lost animals as a place for owners to look for their lost pets. We also take in the County's most dangerous animals and exotics. Once a pet is surrendered to the Center, the pet is examined by our veterinarian, provided with applicable vaccinations, and a behavior evaluation is administered.

Homeless pets who are healthy or have treatable ailments, and are not dangerous, are available for adoption. We reserve the right to delete or hide from public view any submissions, posts or messages which contain:
• Vulgar language, whether implied or otherwise stated; including graphic, obscene, explicit, racist or sexist comments
• Personal attacks of any kind
• Abusive, hateful or slanderous comments, whether implied or otherwise stated, regarding any person, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, organization or nation
• Spam
• Comments that suggest, endorse or encourage illegal activity
• Promotion, solicitation or advertisement of particular services, products or political organizations

What actions should be taken when sticky traps inadvertently capture more than just bugs? In this instance, our Animal Control Officer was summoned to provide assistance and, upon assessment, determined that the snake had not suffered any skin tears and could be safely released from the trap without causing further harm to itself. Kudos to Officer Schultz for a job well done. If you encounter a similar situation, please contact the PWC Police Non-Emergency number to request an Animal Control Officer to evaluate the circumstances.

Panda is a gorgeous, adult, female dog who is in need of a loving home. She is approximately two years old, and her previous owner has turned her in. Unfortunately, we do not have information on how she is with other dogs, but she came in with several puppies that were not hers. So, we believe she would be ok living with other pups. She is a sweet and gentle dog who would love a family of her own. At only 2 years old she is still playful but also a cuddler. Are you interested in meeting Panda? Ask staff at our adoption center to meet her today.

Benji is a head turner!! He is (probably) 50% husky and 50% pittie which makes him the best of both woofs. He has incredibly expressive eyes and tons of personality. He spent some time in foster recently and had a blast!! His favorite part? The POOL!! We wouldn’t have expected it but Benji LOVES THE POOL! He splashes, he dives, he swims…he’s an Alaskan-American Pool Dog!! Benji also loves to play ball, he’s house-trained, crate trained and dog friendly. He is gentle meeting new people and very polite on leash. Benji knows a few basic commands such as sit and down, but he is still a puppy (and a husky) and needs a tad of patience sometimes. This handsome boy has been here since the end of May and is really hoping his time will come soon. He’s here at the Center for the weekend and hoping to make new friends. Won’t you stop by and meet him?
