Lawmakers have introduced changes that could
severely impact small h**p businesses like ours.

In the final hours of session, SB 542 / HB 642 was changed in conference to add major new h**p restrictions that were not part of the bill earlier in the process and were not meaningfully vetted with the small businesses affected.
As written, the bill would sharply restrict the current lawful h**p market months before any retail ma*****na market is up and running. That means Virginia could eliminate much of the existing regulated h**p marketplace before a workable replacement exists.

This risks:
- cutting off access to lawful h**p products, including many non-intoxicating wellness products

- harming existing small businesses that followed Virginia law

- creating a gap in legal cannabinoid access before the new cannabis market is operational
