I should have posted this yesterday, but 1. I hate social media and 2. I'm late for literally everything 😅
Yesterday marked the start of the last 35 days of my 35th year around the sun. To mark the occasion, and to make sure I start my 36th birthday off on the right foot, I'm committing to making a healthy choice on each of those 35 days.
Yesterday I started with getting back into and taking my 50th ride.
This was yet another hard year for many of us. For me, I had to say goodbye to the most special guy - my Sheltie, Cody. He was with me for 13.5 years - the entirety of my adulthood.
He did not have the easiest start to life, so in honor of Cody, and to keep myself accountable, for every mile I walk, run, or bike, I'll be donating $1 to our local animal shelter here in SVT.
Please join me in making one small, healthy choice from now until the new year. Remember, you don't have to go ALL IN all at once. Those tiny, daily choices turn into habits that keep us healthier in the long run.
It's the start to the holiday season, so please remember that the food and parties are our cultural and social traditions that keep us connected.
Don't beat yourself up because you indulged! Go for a 15 minute walk instead of watching a TV show, drink a glass of water instead of having a soda. And give yourself credit for making that choice!
If you'd like to commit to making small, sustainable choices, follow me where I'll post my progress for the next 5 weeks!
