A common myth about VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) is that it's too dangerous — but for many, it’s a safe and empowering choice.

While VBAC carries some risks, so does a repeat cesarean. Most who labor for a VBAC have a successful vaginal birth, yet routine repeat surgeries remain the norm in the U.S.

VBAC is not just a medical option — it’s an empowering path for many birthing individuals to reclaim autonomy, trust their bodies, and make informed decisions after a previous C-section.

* Every birth story matters
* Every choice deserves respect
* Every family deserves evidence-based care and support

Today we celebrate the strength and courage of those who chose VBAC

👶 Red Clover Community Wellness Presents: Our First Baby Clothes & Gear Swap! 🍼
Are you a new or growing family in need of baby supplies? Or maybe you’ve got extra baby clothes and gear that you no longer use? Join us for our very first Baby (Clothes & Gear) Swap — a community-centered event for sharing, swapping, selling, and donating baby items!

🗓 When: August 16th, 11am-4pm
📍 Where: Red Clover, located at 5053A Main Street, Manchester Ctr, Vermont
📧 Contact: hello@redcloverwellness.com to get involved.

We welcome you to bring baby and toddler items in good condition, including:

• Gear (carriers, strollers, bouncers, etc.)
• Everyday essentials (diapers, bottles, toys, books, etc.)
Interested in selling or swapping?

We ask that each participating family limit their contributions to 2 tote-sized bags of clothing. This helps us keep things organized and accessible for everyone.

This event is open to all families — whether you're looking to trade, sell, or simply find what you need. Feel free to spread the word to others in the community, especially those who could benefit from gently used baby supplies.
Let’s support one another and make sure every little one in our community has what they need to thrive. 💛

Today is World Preeclampsia Day.
Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDPs)—like preeclampsia, eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and gestational hypertension—impact 5–10% of pregnancies worldwide.
In the U.S., which ranks 47th globally for maternal mortality and is the only industrialized nation with a rising maternal death rate, up to 60% of hypertension-related maternal deaths are preventable.
We can save lives by taking action:
🧠 Educate patients on the signs and symptoms of preeclampsia with clear, easy-to-understand tools.
🩺 Screen early for risk factors. Talk to your provider about prevention measures such as low-dose aspirin, calcium/magnesium, a protein-rich diet, and regular exercise.
🤝 Ensure access to midwives, doulas, and other trained birth professionals during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum
✨ Awareness. Early intervention. Equitable care.
Together, we can prevent maternal deaths and support healthier pregnancies.

Did you know that 1 in 10 partners experience a perinatal mental health disorder after the birth of their child? Even more so, if the birthing parent is experiencing a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder themselves, up to 1 in 2 partners will also experience a PMAD (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder).

🏡Mental health challenges in the postpartum period can impact bonding, relationships, and family well-being. It’s time we break the silence and support all parents — not just the birthing ones.

Maternal mental health is critically important yet often under-recognized. While physical complications in childbirth can be life-threatening and deserve attention, maternal mental health disorders are actually the most common complications associated with childbirth.

-About 1 in 5 birthing parents (20%) experience clinical depression during pregnancy or after giving birth.
-Conditions like anxiety, PTSD, and even postpartum psychosis can also occur but are often less discussed
-An estimated 30–40% of women report having had a traumatic birth experience
-Miscarriage and perinatal loss are associated with increased risk of depression, anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms

Due to stigma and lack of screening, many maternal mental health disorders go undiagnosed and untreated — with lasting effects on both parent and child. It's crucial that we recognize the emotional toll of childbirth and pregnancy loss, and support mothers not just physically, but mentally and emotionally, during and after birth.

💬 Let’s talk about the “baby blues” — and what they’re not.
About 85% of new mothers experience the baby blues — mild mood swings, weepiness, and emotional ups and downs in the first days or weeks after giving birth. These are common and often linked to hormonal changes and the huge adjustment of becoming a parent.

But here’s the important part:
When symptoms last longer than two weeks, feel intense, or interfere with daily life, it could be more than just the baby blues — possibly postpartum depression, anxiety, or even PTSD.
🧠 Mental health matters. Let’s stop brushing off serious symptoms and start supporting parents with compassion and care.

🌸It’s Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month! AND- Maternal Mental Health Week 🌸
Each year, an estimated 800,000 new parents in the U.S. experience Perinatal Mental Health Disorders (PMHDs) — yet for many, mental health still feels like a mystery.
This May, a month all about honoring moms, we’re shining a light on the mental health challenges that too often go unseen.
💬 To every new mom: You are not alone.
Let’s break the silence, end the stigma, and build a world where all parents feel supported — mind and body. 💛
