Theresa Miley is a board-certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care that honors the whole person.

She began her nursing career in pediatric critical care before earning her master’s degree from the University of San Diego and becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2003. Through years of experience in pediatric primary and critical care, Theresa developed a strong foundation in family-centered care and a deep appreciation for how emotional, social, and environmental factors influence overall health. Her work with children and families shaped her belief that physical and mental wellness are deeply interconnected.

Driven by her passion for mental health, Theresa later earned a post-graduate degree from Johns Hopkins University as a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She now provides holistic, patient-centered mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults, and strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel safe, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

Originally from the West Coast, Theresa now calls Maryland home. Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time with her children, gardening, reading, and staying active—recognizing that physical movement is an essential component of mental wellness. She understands that life can be complex and messy, and she is honored to support patients as they work toward clarity, resilience, and overall well-being.

If you would like to meet with Theresa, you are in luck, she has immediate availability!

Yesterday, Kindred Treatment Center celebrated our incredible staff with a little relaxation, connection, and self-care at our holiday party.

Kindred wouldn’t be the special place it is without our dedicated, compassionate, and passionate team. We gathered to enjoy lunch, exchange Secret Snowflake gifts, and take time to truly unwind.

As a small thank you for all they do each day, our staff enjoyed massages and Reiki sessions, because caring for others starts with caring for ourselves.

We are so grateful for our Kindred team and wish all of our Kindred Spirits a joyful and restful holiday season.💜

Special thanks to Jessica and Julie at Love Yourself First for the Reiki sessions, and Bob at The Serenity Room for the massages.

🎁✨ Holiday gift-giving can be joyful, but also stressful. Here are a few tips to help keep you sane this season:

💜 Set a budget: Overspending adds pressure. Thoughtful doesn’t have to mean expensive.
💜 Simplify: Not every gift needs to be perfect or handmade. Ease is allowed.
💜 Give experiences, not things: Time together or simple acts of kindness can mean more than “stuff.”
💜 Know your limits: If shopping or gatherings feel overwhelming, take a break.
💜 Ask for help: You don’t have to do it all on your own.

At Kindred Treatment Center, we’re here to support your mental health and recovery, during the holidays and all year long.

Nikolaus Euwer is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, and person-centered mental health care. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University and gained extensive clinical experience at Sheppard Pratt Hospital, where he worked in a variety of psychiatric settings as a Registered Nurse. These experiences solidified his belief in the importance of accessible, stigma-free care for individuals across the lifespan.

Nikolaus later completed his Doctorate in the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialty at the University of Maryland, further developing his clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for a diverse range of mental health conditions. He went on to complete a residency at the Portland, Oregon Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he received advanced training in trauma-informed care, complex mood disorders, and integrative treatment approaches. His background working with veterans deepened his commitment to understanding each person’s story and honoring the unique challenges they face.

In his practice, Nikolaus focuses on building therapeutic relationships grounded in respect, collaboration, and genuine listening. He values a holistic approach to mental health, considering biological, psychological, social, and environmental influences to create individualized treatment plans. Whether working with someone navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, or life transitions, Nikolaus strives to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel empowered in their healing process.

Outside of his clinical work, Nikolaus draws inspiration from the natural world. He is passionate about gardening, exploring the outdoors, and finding moments of stillness in nature. These interests reinforce his belief that healing often involves reconnecting with oneself, cultivating balance, and discovering meaning in the experiences that shape us. He embraces the idea that we are all on a journey to find peace, purpose, and our place in the world.

If you would like to meet with Nikolaus Euwer, please contact us at your convenience and we will get you set up with an appointment. Nick is currently accepting new patients.
