While winter brings snowball fights, cozy nights and frosty fun, it can also bring a dangerous chill. Without the right protection, you could be setting yourself up for . Frostbite happens when skin and tissue begin to freeze, often without much warning. If you notice any of the signs, it’s time to act fast:

❄️ Remove wet clothing immediately.
❄️ Move into a warm, sheltered environment.
❄️ Warm your body using blankets and/or dry clothing.
❄️ Gently rewarm affected areas in room-temperature (not hot) water.

Your risk of frostbite can increase with prolonged exposure to cold, alcohol use and age. However, you can still enjoy your favorite winter activities safely. To help prevent, it’s important to bundle up in warm layers and stay dry before heading outdoors.

If you suspect that you have frostbite, seek emergency care right away: https://bit.ly/4pGxnr8

🧠 A is a bulge in a blood vessel in the brain. It can rupture without warning, leading to a life-threatening stroke. Many aneurysms go undetected so it’s critical to be aware of the most common symptom as well as risk factors.

Across our broader HCA Healthcare network, caregivers treated more than 3,000 brain aneurysms last year. HCA Healthcare has 43 comprehensive stroke centers and cares for more than 70,000 patients admitted for stroke treatment annually.

If you’re concerned about your risk for an aneurysm, talk to your doctor. And if you have a sudden, severe headache, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Know where to find emergency care near you: https://bit.ly/48Dtg9p

💙 Thank You, CMC Team! 💙

We asked you to support the Healthy Food for Healthier Tomorrows Food Drive — and you came through in an amazing way!

Together, we collected 431 pounds of food and essential items to benefit New Hampshire Food Bank, supporting families in need. Together with our HCA Healthcare facilities in New Hampshire, we gathered nearly 2,800 pounds of food and essential items to help four food pantries across the Granite State!

Food insecurity remains one of the most pressing health challenges in our communities. That’s why our CMC family was proud to join other HCA Healthcare facilities nationwide for this initiative — ensuring families have access to healthy meals during this holiday season.

Your generosity and compassion truly make a difference. Thank you for showing what community and care look like! 💪

𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐌𝐂!

We’re evaluating new surgical lights and booms—the equipment that helps our surgical teams perform complex procedures with precision and efficiency.

Why does this matter?
Advanced lighting and positioning systems support our caregivers by improving visibility and workflow in the operating room. These upgrades are part of our ongoing investment in technology that enhances the patient experience and supports our clinical teams.

Stay tuned as we continue building the future of surgical care at CMC!

If you’re not feeling merry and bright this holiday season, you’re not alone. The holidays can be a joyful time, but they can also bring anxiety and emotional strain. Knowing the symptoms of depression can help you recognize when you’re feeling more than seasonal stress.

If you’re struggling with depression, these tips from the NAMI may help you manage it better so you can enjoy holiday festivities:

🎯 Be aware of your personal triggers.
✍️ Try journaling or writing a gratitude list to shift your perspective.
📅 Do your best to avoid overscheduling – it’s okay to say no.
🛑 Set boundaries with people who make you feel negative emotions.
🧘 Make time for relaxation, deep breathing or meditation to help ease stress.
🍷 Drink in moderation as alcohol can amplify negative emotions.

Across our broader HCA Healthcare system of care, we are part of an integrated network of mental health and wellness facilities, comprising over 50 inpatient facilities and more than 200 outpatient programs across 15 states. If you’re looking for mental health support, we’re here for you. Schedule an appointment with a licensed counselor by calling 603-663-6252.

Chest pain feels different for everyone — it can be a dull ache or a sudden, sharp stabbing sensation. Regardless of how it feels, it’s important to take chest pain seriously. If the discomfort sticks around, it could be a sign of a more serious, potentially life-threatening condition like a heart attack or a blood clot.

Last year across our broader HCA Healthcare network, our emergency rooms saw nearly 838,000 visits related to cardiac complaints. You know your body better than anyone. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts. And if your chest pain is severe or accompanied by any of the symptoms shown here, seek emergency care immediately.
