“The machine is awesome. It's just technologically amazing.” ~ Ben, new ibot user

Meet Ben and his wife Holly. Ben recently received his brand new ibot® PMD and completed his training with one of our clinicians!

When asked what is most exciting about Ben’s new ibot, Holly said, “it's a game changer for us. We can go, take a walk along the beach at sunset, we can walk in the morning on the beach. We can go out in snow. We don't have to worry about it.”

In September, team members from Mobius Mobility attended REHACARE in Düsseldorf, Germany! Visitors from around the world attend to explore the latest advancements in mobility and assistive technologies for those with disabilities.

Mobius Product Manger Pragya attended. “It was amazing to see how many people appreciated the different modes we have and how easy it is to transition between them all. Lots of people commented on how they felt a new sense of freedom being able to reach high shelves, be at eye level, and access places like beaches alongside their loved ones. We say the ibot is like having 5 wheelchairs in 1, but people want to see it to believe it."

At Mobius Mobility, we are always striving to innovate and change the game for people with disabilities—so they can continue to reach, climb, and go.

October is Disability Employment Awareness Month!

At Mobius Mobility, we recognize the immense value people with disabilities bring to the workforce. The ibot® (PMD) is more than just a power wheelchair, it is a mobility aid designed to reduce barriers to accessibility.

Every person deserves the tools and environments that support their full participation in work, community, and life.

The Hidden Impact of Height Difference 👁️
Research shows that communication dynamics change significantly based on physical positioning. When conversations happen at different heights:
❌ The seated person may feel:
• Less authoritative or respected
• Physically uncomfortable from neck strain
• Socially excluded from group conversations
• Self-conscious about their position
✅ Eye-level interaction promotes:
• More natural conversation flow
• Increased confidence and self-advocacy
• Better hearing in noisy environments
• Stronger social connections
This is why "balance mode" technology - allowing wheelchair users to rise to eye level - can be life-changing. It's not just about the physical capability; it's about dignity, equality, and genuine human connection.
Fun fact: Studies indicate that eye-level conversations last 40% longer and involve more personal disclosure than height-differential interactions.
Have you ever considered how height affects your daily interactions?

📱 From Phones to Wheelchairs: How Technology Transforms Lives
Remember when cell phones were just for calling? Now they're computers, cameras, GPS systems, and entertainment centers all in one device.
The same evolution is happening in mobility technology! 🦽➡️🤖
Traditional Wheelchairs:
• Single function: basic mobility
• Limited to smooth surfaces
• Height restrictions
• Environmental barriers
Modern Multi-Modal Devices:
• Six different operating modes
• Terrain adaptation capabilities
• Variable height adjustment
• Stair climbing abilities
• Vehicle integration
• Remote operation
Just like smartphones revolutionized communication, advanced mobility devices are revolutionizing independence.
The question isn't whether this technology will become standard - it's how quickly we can make it accessible to everyone who needs it.
What everyday technology do you think has had the biggest impact on independence and quality of life?

🏠 Home Accessibility: It's More Complex Than You Think
When we talk about accessibility, we often focus on public spaces. But did you know that 73% of homes in the US have at least one step at the entrance?
Common Home Barriers: 🚪 Entrance steps (73% of homes) 🚿 Bathroom thresholds and tub access 🏠 Split-level layouts with interior steps 🌿 Outdoor spaces with uneven terrain 🚗 Garage access with steps or slopes
The Real Impact: These barriers don't just limit where someone can go - they limit:
• Family gatherings and social visits
• Independent living options
• Property values and housing choices
• Emergency evacuation capabilities
Modern Solutions: Advanced mobility technology can navigate many of these challenges, but the key is matching the right solution to individual needs and environments.
For Families: Consider accessibility when choosing homes, but also know that technology solutions exist to expand options.
What accessibility features do you think are most important in home design?
