For those of you who don’t know! Feed your baby before he/she is super upset

Babies use many cues to indicate hunger prior to crying.

Early cues include:
-Smacking or licking lips
-Opening and closing mouth
-Sucking on lips, tongue, hands, fingers, toes, toys, or clothing
Active cues include:
-Rooting around on the chest of whoever is carrying him
-Trying to position for nursing, either by lying back or pulling on your clothes
-Fidgeting or squirming around a lot
-Hitting you on the arm or chest repeatedly
-Fussing or breathing fast

Late hunger cues include:
-Moving head frantically from side to side
-Crying

Generally, a crying baby is much harder to latch. Try to calm them before attempting to latch on.

Any amount is an accomplishment and any journey is okay 💛 the liquid gold

August 1st is the beginning of World Breastfeeding Week.

A week where we celebrate all things breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding looks different to everyone, and there isn’t a correct way to do it.

Whatever way we do it, we do it for our babies.

This week is for all breastfeeding mamas: past, present, and future. 1 week or 1 year. You deserve to be celebrated.

Raise your hand if you've ever suffered from the dreaded clogged ducts! 🙋🏾‍♀️

The next time you have one, try this Milky Mama tip.

➡️ Fill your Haakaa with enough warm water to make contact with your ni**le. Make sure that the water is warm but not burning hot as you don't want to burn yourself.
➡️ Add 1-2 tablespoons of Epsom Salts.
➡️ Attach your Haakaa to the breast with the clogged duct and allow the combination of heat, the salts, and suction to help remove the clog.
➡️ Keep the Haakaa attached for 10-15 minutes. You may need to repeat several times for large and/or stubborn clogs.

SAVE this post to keep on hand the next time you have a clogged duct!
