Dan is the man with the garden plan! Meet Dan, one of our participants in the Enhanced Family Care (EFC) program. EFC connects adults with disabilities with home providers for a shared life filled with community-based learning, employment, and adventure.

An important component of this awesome service is helping participants connect to the activities and hobbies that they have a passion for - and for Dan, that's growing his own garden. And, as you can see, the results speak for themselves! Truly, this is YOUR impact in bloom.

How cool is this? We were thrilled to support our friends at the Manchester Police Athletic League - MPAL with a special CMF Kids community partnership project. Melissa White, Executive Director of CMF Kids, and Ned Olney, President and CEO of Crotched Mountain Foundation, dropped off a check in support of a unique Jiu Jitsu program for students of all abilities.

We understand the pressures for families of children with autism. As we have for so many years, we are by your side and believe in a bright future for all - the CMF Kids Logan's Giving Fund for Autism provides families needed support by directly paying their child’s service provider for autism services and treatment they would otherwise not be able to afford.

Resource awards range from $1,000 to $5,000. Areas of funding support include (but are not limited to) out of pocket expenses associated with necessary autism services or treatment such as Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy overseen by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, speech, occupational and music therapy, and social skills groups.

Did you know? Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center was home to the world's first wind farm! Twenty turbines were constructed in 1980 as a pilot project, but two years later, with no investor to carry the vision onward, they were dismantled.

An interesting, breezy footnote in our nearly 100-year history...

Crotched Mountain Foundation is excited to welcome Kurt Mailloux to the Crotched Mountain Board of Directors.

Kurt operates the Akwa Marina Yacht Club on Lake Winnipesaukee in Laconia and is a graduate of The University of New Hampshire Peter Paul School of Business and Economics.

In 2018, Kurt and his wife Sarah launched the Winnipesaukee Volleyball Classic, an annual volleyball tournament that generates funds for Logan’s Giving Fund for Autism. The fund helps families struggling with the high cost of autism therapy co-pays.

"I am excited to join the leadership of Crotched Mountain Foundation,” Kurt says. “The Crotched Mountain mission is near and dear to my family and having the opportunity to guide the organization forward and make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities is a true privilege."

Tenants at McIntyre School Apartments enjoyed a summer outing at Cannon Mountain with a complimentary pass for all seniors 65 and up. They rode the tram to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the view from the observatory deck of the beautiful fall colors. Living at McIntyre School Apartments is a fun and unique experience that sets us apart from most senior living communities. Join us at McIntyre, you never know where we may go next!

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Richard Verney, a difference-maker in the community and stalwart ally of Crotched Mountain Foundation.

Richard’s support for our mission spanned more than half a century. During his decades of CMF Board service he frequently stepped forward to help establish new initiatives for children and adults with disabilities.

He will be deeply missed.
