The NH Behavioral Health Summit, held on December 8th and 9th, has become one of New Hampshire’s largest gatherings of behavioral health professionals. Jonathan represented Into Action and attended several educational sessions, continuing his commitment to learning and growth while staying connected to what’s happening across the behavioral health landscape. It was also a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, friends, and partners doing important work throughout the state.

🏙️🧥🍲 Two Cities, One Weekend of Service

Last weekend, one group served hot meals and distributed warm clothing at the 39 Beech Street Engagement Center, while another group was simultaneously doing the same work in Nashua.

This effort was the culmination of many weeks of gathering, sorting, and cleaning clothing to make sure it reached people who needed it most.

At the 39 Beech Street in Manchester, 25 volunteers came together to serve warm meals to roughly 50 people, with extra food delivered to FIT down the road so nothing went to waste. We had chili, American Chop Suey, assorted sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, water, and coffee!

Service and giving really bring us together, and we hope these small kindnesses provide a larger impact on the lives of the men and women we spent time with.

Thank you to Ascension, Saint C’s, Heartfelt, Into Action, Granite, and friends and family who gave their time and energy to help make this happen.

Two events, two cities, and many people supported in one weekend.

We love watching the houses transform into festive, live-in spaces. When residents take the time to decorate, it shows pride, ownership, and a sense of stability that doesn’t happen overnight. A decorated house has a way of grounding people, offering comfort, and reminding them that this is home, their home. Nothing makes us happier than seeing people settle in, create routine, and make their space their own.

💪💥➡Mindet Monday

Getting sober isn’t for the people who want it, need it, or even the ones who "know it" (you know the ones...). It’s for the people who DO IT! Just like the Nike slogan says: “Just Do It.”

Willingness isn’t a feeling, it’s ACTION.

So ask yourself today:
What are you DOING for your recovery?

✨ Celebrating ONE YEAR for Larissa! ✨

Today we recognize Larissa for an incredible milestone - one full year of growth, commitment, and showing up even when things were hard. On 11/18/24, she made a decision to turn her will over to her Higher Power at a time when life felt heavy, and she chose to keep moving forward for herself and for her son.

Over the past year, she’s taken suggestions (even the ones she didn’t want to), tried new things, got a sponsor, worked the steps, and built a daily practice of prayer and honesty. She’s stayed open-minded, willing, and focused on becoming the mother and woman she knows she can be.

Her journey has been supported by a strong recovery community, including The Granite House, New Freedom Academy, and Into Action; and by the women around her, the rooms of AA, and her Higher Power. She leans on all of them.
One year down, and a lifetime to keep growing.

Larissa, we’re proud of you.

💪❤️🙏

🥧🍗Thanksgiving is a time to PRACTICE gratitude. We practice by showing up for each other, sit with someone who’s struggling, welcome a new face into the room, or choose to be part of the solution instead of isolating. That’s gratitude in action.

Coming together as a community matters. When we fill the room, we remind each other that recovery is possible, that connection heals, and that no one has to do this alone. EVERY CHAIR HAS A VOICE, and every person who walks through the door brings strength to someone else who needs it.

Come join us, and grab a chair!

🌟 Welcome to the Team, Shana “Shay” Dutterer! 🌟

We’re excited to announce Shay as our new Admissions Coordinator at Into Action. This is a full-circle moment, as an alumni of our program, Shay brings lived experience, compassion, and a deep understanding of what our residents need from the very first interaction. Combined with her background working in multiple treatment roles, she’s the perfect fit to support individuals as they take their first steps toward change.

At Into Action, we stress the importance of a thorough screening because it sets the tone for someone’s entire journey. A strong screening and a well-supported admission ensure that every person:

➡️ Feels welcomed and understood
➡️ Arrives prepared with everything they need
➡️ Doesn’t fall through the cracks during one of the most vulnerable transitions in recovery... From Treatment/Incarceration ➡ Community

We’re grateful to have Shay on board as the first voice and the first support many will meet on their path to recovery. Welcome home, Shay, we’re lucky to have you. 💚

So, you finished rehab. You’re sober now. Living in a sober house. Waking up early to catch the bus to a job that barely pays the bills. You’re splitting a fridge with other recovering addicts, listening to them fight over food or relapse excuses, trying to stay focused on your own lane — your own recovery.
You’re hitting your meetings. You’re sitting in folding chairs under fluorescent lights, listening to other people’s pain, trying to believe that maybe… just maybe… one day, yours will turn into purpose too.
And I know there are nights when it doesn’t feel worth it. When you’re sitting on the edge of your bed staring at the same four walls, thinking, Is this really what I got sober for? When the silence gets so loud it starts screaming your name. When giving up feels easier than fighting through another day.
But let me tell you something — it takes a rare kind of strength to do what you’re doing.
Because anybody can self-destruct. Anybody can run. Anybody can hide behind a bottle, a pill, a bag, or a pipe. But it takes a fighter to start from scratch and rebuild their life one day at a time.
You’re not weak because it’s hard. You’re not broken because it hurts. You’re becoming. You’re laying the bricks for a life that’s going to mean something.
That bus you’re riding to that minimum wage job? That’s not humiliation — that’s humility. That’s faith in motion. Every mile is proof that you’re not who you used to be.
That sober house that smells like burnt ramen and resentment? That’s your launching pad. That’s where your comeback story is being written.
And those meetings you drag yourself to? Those are your classrooms — where pain turns into wisdom, and strangers turn into family.
Listen to me — what God is building in you right now, in this season that feels small and insignificant, is going to blow your mind when it unfolds. You’re not just surviving this chapter — you’re being prepared for the next one.
You might not see it yet, but you’re a walking miracle in progress. A warrior in transition. A Rockstar in recovery.
So don’t quit now. Not when you’ve already made it this far. The world hasn’t even seen what you’re capable of yet.
I see you.
I’m proud of you.
And I promise you — if you just keep going, it gets better. 🫶🫶
