Not My Way — A Better Way

We used to think surrender meant losing.

Now we know it means freedom.

Freedom from obsessing.
Freedom from needing the last word.
Freedom from carrying the weight of outcomes that were never ours to control.

Step 3 teaches us that we don’t have to figure everything out.
We just have to show up willing.

When we release “my way,” we make room for a better way.

What are you ready to turn over today?

🎉 Celebrating Alyssa — 2 Years Sober 🎉

Two years of sobriety is no small accomplishment, and Alyssa embodies real growth and resilience.

For the past two years, she shows up for herself day after day, putting in the work and proving that change is possible. Recovery is built in the small decisions, the hard days, the honest moments, and Alyssa has kept moving forward through all of it. Along the way, she has become a steady source of support and encouragement for the people around her. She’s always willing to lend a hand, share her experience, and show others that they do not have to do this alone. She has repeatedly pushed herself beyond her comfort zone, taking on new challenges and staying open to growth. Her willingness says a lot. It shows courage, humility, and a real commitment to living differently.

Through it all, she brings humor and light wherever she goes, reminding everyone around her that recovery can be filled with laughter, connection, and joy.

We are so proud of you, Alyssa, and grateful to witness your journey. Congratulations on 2 years — a beautiful milestone, and just one part of the amazing story you are continuing to write. 💙

Three members of our leadership team spent the day participating in Mandt System De-Escalation Training, continuing our commitment to building a safe, supportive recovery environment.

The Mandt System focuses on preventing and safely managing crisis situations through relationship-based de-escalation. The training emphasizes understanding behavior, staying calm under pressure, recognizing early warning signs of escalation, and using respectful communication to reduce tension before situations grow into conflict. At its core, it’s about maintaining dignity, safety, and connection even during difficult moments.

These are important skills in recovery housing. When people are going through tough days, the way we respond matters. The goal is always to de-escalate, protect relationships, and support people through the moment, not just react to behavior.

A big thank you to the wonderful instructors and our hosts at Making It Happen and for putting together such a valuable training.

Always learning. Always improving. Always showing up for our community.

Alignment Over Control

Self-will sounds strong.
But most of the time, it just leaves us exhausted.

Alignment feels different.

It’s waking up and asking:
“Am I moving with purpose today… or just reacting?”

Step 3 is a daily decision to turn our direction over — not in weakness, but in trust.

When our will lines up with something greater than ourselves,
we move with clarity instead of chaos.

What would change this week if you focused on alignment instead of control?

A fighter, a warrior, and always a friend of Into Action. His story is not a straight line from our door to where he is today, and sometimes that is part of the story, but what's important for us - is that we stay supportive of each other. We are grateful for our many Alumni.

Please come and join us for pizza and speakers, including Corey.

🔥 ONE YEAR SOBER 🔥

Today we celebrate Mark and an incredible milestone — 1 year of sobriety.

Mark’s story is real. He talks about a bottom that didn’t feel like one single moment… but days that turned into weeks, weeks into years. Wanting to stop, but not knowing how. That’s something a lot of people understand.

His turning point wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t comfortable.
It was being forced to stop. And instead of wasting that moment, he used it. The beginning wasn’t sunshine and clarity. There was depression. There were hard days. There were decisions that had to be made over and over again.

And now? After 20 years of drinking and drugging, he says he’s finally learning what it means to truly live a full, contented life.

Keep going. The best is still ahead. 💪

🌊 Mindset Monday – March 2

Let Go to Grow

There’s a difference between controlling everything and being committed to a path.

For a long time, we tried to force outcomes. Manage perceptions. Grip tightly to how we thought things “should” go.

Step 3 invites us to loosen that grip.

When we stop trying to run the whole show, something shifts.
We become teachable.
We become available.
We become aligned.

What if growth isn’t about doing more…
but about surrendering better?

Where in your life are you still trying to force it?

On Saturday night, our community had the chance to show up in a big way thanks to the generosity of Chucky's Fight. They made it possible for a large group of us to attend Combat Zone 91 at the SNHU Arena by providing nearly 50 discounted tickets.

Huge respect to every fighter who stepped into that arena. The discipline, preparation, and courage it takes to walk into that ring is something most people will never fully understand. To us, anyone willing to face that kind of challenge is already a winner.

We’re grateful for organizations like Chucky’s Fight who make nights like this possible. What a great way to spend a Saturday Night!

If you have photos from the event to share, drop them in the comments below!

Mindset Monday • February 23

Start the day with intention. End it with honesty.

We don’t need perfect days.
We need honest ones.

The Big Book talks about taking a daily inventory.
Looking at where we were selfish, fearful, resentful, or dishonest
and then letting it go instead of carrying it into tomorrow.

No beating ourselves up.
No pretending everything was fine.

Just an honest look, a little accountability, and a willingness to do better the next day.

That’s how progress actually happens.
One day at a time.

Mindset Monday • February 16

Discomfort isn’t a stop sign.

If something feels uncomfortable, that doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
A lot of the time, it just means it’s new.

Comfort kept many of us stuck for a long time.
Growth usually asks us to feel a little awkward first.

And that’s okay.

Recovery is not just about overcoming challenges—it's also about rediscovering the joy in life. Experiences like the “Common Ground Concert” show that recovery can be filled with joy, laughter, and activities like concerts.

Thank you to HOPE for New Hampshire Recovery for creating an event that brought together the community through the power of music. 🎶

Special thanks to Colicchie and Kyle for courageously sharing your powerful stories and musical talents.
