Today, we had a great meeting with Dime Bank learning about their fiduciary services—an important resource that can help seniors and their families navigate financial decisions with confidence and peace of mind.

When financial oversight is paired with quality in-home care, seniors are better supported to age safely, comfortably, and with dignity. These collaborative partnerships help ensure that both daily care needs and financial well-being are addressed.

We value relationships that strengthen the circle of care for older adults and their families—and we look forward to continued collaboration that puts seniors first. Conservatorships and guardianships are meant to protect and support older adults—but when misused, they can lead to loss of independence, financial exploitation, or emotional harm.

Seniors and families should know:
✔️ You have the right to dignity, respect, and involvement in decisions
✔️ Financial and personal decisions should always be transparent
✔️ Abuse can include isolation, misuse of funds, neglect, or lack of communication

Awareness is a powerful form of protection. Having the right support system in place helps older adults maintain autonomy, safety, and quality of life.

💙 If you or a loved one need guidance, resources, or supportive services at home, we’re here to help families navigate aging with care, respect, and peace of mind. Give us a call at 860-533-9343 or visit us at www.ABCCentralCT.com.

❄️ Winter Weather Safety Reminder for Seniors ❄️

As Winter Storm Benjamin moves through our area, it’s important for older adults and families to take extra precautions to stay safe, warm, and prepared.

Helpful winter safety tips for seniors:
✔️ Stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel
✔️ Keep walkways clear of ice and snow when possible
✔️ Dress in warm layers and wear non-slip footwear
✔️ Keep medications, food, and essentials stocked
✔️ Check that space heaters and heating systems are used safely
✔️ Stay connected—regular check-ins matter during severe weather

Winter storms can increase the risk of falls, power outages, and isolation, especially for seniors living alone. Extra support can make a big difference in safety and peace of mind. Please stay safe, stay warm, and look out for one another during this storm.
