No.
While perimenopause is a natural life transition, symptoms do not need to be dismissed or endured without support. Evidence-based treatment options may be appropriate, depending on symptoms, medical history, and individual goals.
Care should be individualized.

Physiologic birth isn’t about perfection.
It’s about supporting normal physiology when it’s safe to do so.

Labor is a hormone-driven, adaptive process — and environment, movement, and continuous support all influence how that process unfolds.

When mother and baby are low-risk and doing well, protecting:
• spontaneous labor
• freedom of movement
• a calm, private space
• delayed umbilical cord clamping
• uninterrupted skin-to-skin

can optimize outcomes and patient experience.

And when intervention is needed? We use it thoughtfully and appropriately.

The goal is always the same: healthy parent, healthy baby.

Yes.
Fluctuating estrogen levels during perimenopause may contribute to mood changes, including anxiety, irritability, or depressive symptoms. These experiences are common during the menopausal transition and should be taken seriously.
