Jan Johnson, CFP Helping Clients Make Smart Financial Decisions During Life's Transitions But fate was about to unfold in Jan’s life.

“Helping Clients Make Smart Financial Decisions During Life’s Transitions” is in Jan Johnson’s blood. Her dad started out by working as a stockbroker for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in California back in 1986. He was one of the first Advisors to become a Certified Financial Planner™ (“CFP®”) professional. Simultaneously, Jan was working as a Registered Dietitian in her private practice, advising patients on how to keep physically healthy, as well teaching students at the University level. After an emotional divorce, Jan found herself facing her own significant “Life Transition.” She sought the services of a CFP® professional, who helped sort out her investments and pointed her in the right direction to get all her questions answered. She had seen so many friends in similar situations get shortchanged, with some even having to file bankruptcy, and was determined not to do the same. Along the way, Jan discovered that she actually enjoyed the problem solving process she had just experienced firsthand. She found the process of setting goals, interviewing, analysis and evaluation skills were similar to what she was already practicing in her current career. At the urging of her dad, Jan entered the financial services business, and became a Certified Financial Planner™ professional herself in 2002, adding the technical skills necessary to help her clients achieve and maintain good financial health.

“Today, instead of Protein, Fats & Carbs, I help clients balance Stocks, Bonds & Mutual Funds, along with the softer, more human side of money,” says Jan. “I love mentoring clients in the art and science of financial planning and investing. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, confident and in control of your well being as well as your wealth, particularly during the potentially stressful times of life’s transitions.”
