“Where is it that you place your hope? Jesus already told his followers in John 16:33 ‘…In this world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.’ We are told of the promise that He would in fact rise again-and He has. In doing so He has given us a hope of a resurrection ourselves, but only in, through, and by him. In Acts 1:9-11 it says ‘Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He (Jesus) was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.’
It was said that He would come, and He did. It was spoke that He would heal, and He did. It was said that He would face trials, torment, pain, and anguish; and He did. It was prophesied that He would die, and He has. That He would rise, and He has risen. He said He would come again quickly and know ‘He is not slack concerning His promises.’ He has risen and He is coming again.”
