Recovery is about building a life that feels worth it. Having a purpose helps give you direction. It can be something small, like helping someone, learning a skill, or just showing up each day. When you have a reason to keep going, recovery starts to feel more meaningful.

At Manchester Clubhouse, people find purpose by being part of a community. Members work together, support each other, and try new things. It’s a place where you can feel needed, build confidence, and take steps forward.

Today with the generous help from Community Caregivers of Greater Derry , we were able to provide the needs for one of our members at the clubhouse!

Our member was in need of a walker and through the Community Caregivers of Greater Derry and their loan closet we were able to provide one for her for free!

Clubhouse Standard #2: The Clubhouse has control over its acceptance of new members. Membership is open to anyone with a history of mental illness, unless that person poses a significant and current threat to the general safety of the Clubhouse community.

The clubhouse model is a non-clinical community based rehabilitation program designed to empower individuals living with mental health illness or brain injury. Members participate in a “work-ordered day” working with staff to run the clubhouse from food to hospitality to business.

Today we asked John, a member of the clubhouse why he comes to the clubhouse and this is what he said:

I come to the clubhouse to interact with my peers. At the clubhouse I help clean, answer phone calls, and do the meeting slides.
