Redmann, MD, FACS, is an expert in bariatric surgery, specializing in performing the sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and the new incisionles Balloon procedure. He is board certified in surgery and is a Bariatric Center of Excellence designated surgeon. Born in Metairie, Louisiana, Dr. Redmann was graduated Summa Cum Laude from Jesuit High School in New Orleans. His Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin is from The University of Texas at Austin, and his Medical Doctor degree is from Louisiana State University in New Orleans. After completing his residency in General Surgery at L.S.U., Dr. Redmann moved to Eunice, Louisiana, where he performed all aspects of General Surgery for the area. With the Surgical Specialists of Louisiana, Dr. Redmann has performed and assisted in thousands of bariatric procedures for surgical weight loss. He is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS) and the American College of Surgeons, and is a Trained Site Surveyor for MBSAQIP. Dr. Redmann is a National Proctor for the da Vinci robot surgery system. He is the former Chief of Medical Staff at Southern Surgical Hospital and the current President of the Louisiana Chapter of the ASMBS. He also specializes in the surgical treatment of GERD, including Nissen fundoplication, hiatal hernia repair and the LINX reflux management system. Gallbladder surgery, hemorrhoid surgery, and hernia repair are also part of Dr. Redmann’s surgical repertoire.
