Hello mamas!
I wanted to come on and personally introduce myself. My name is Hayley Ferut, I am an RN and IBCLC (lactation consultant). I worked with Kristian at Northshore Lactation Connections when I moved back home to Louisiana from Florida last year. I learned so much and developed a love for helping moms and babies in the home environment. When Kristian passed away, her family asked me to pick up where she left off and keep helping the families of the Northshore. Kristian considered caring for mamas and babies her ministry and I do as well. I started my own practice called Blessed Beginnings Lactation Care in honor of the blessing of babies and breastfeeding. I can't wait to meet you all and help out in our community!

As World Breastfeeding Week comes to a close I wanted to share these sweet pictures of my baby and I when he was 11 months old. I’m not sure if Kristian saw these or not but I know she would love them. ❤️

Keep nursing, pumping, and feeding mamas.. One wise woman once told me, “Honey, just take it one feed at a time,” and here we are 2 years later still going strong.

Thank you everyone for the overflowing support and love we have received.

Services for Kristian Billiot will be at St Margaret Mary Church on Wednesday, July 12th. Visitation will start at 9:30 and mass will begin at 11. Following the procession and burial, there will be a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall on W.Hall Ave.

While we are all saddened by Kristian’s sudden passing, baby’s and mamas still need help with breastfeeding. Hayley Ferut, R.N., IBCLC (Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) has been a part of the Northshore Lactation Connections team and will continue to see patients during this transition time.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out via phone ☎️ at (985)-807-5347 or direct message if you are experiencing any feeding difficulties associated with breastfeeding as well as bottle feeding, pumping, weaning, introducing solids, etc.

It’s officially summer! ☀️🕶️ Sometimes caregivers are tempted to give baby water, however the American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend introducing water until baby is 6 months old.

Remember mamas to nurse on demand to make sure your baby is getting plenty of hydration.

I have been putting off writing this post because I just don’t want it to be true. Kristian Billiot, the owner and founder, of Northshore Lactation Connections passed away late last week. She positively impacted so many mothers and babies in our community. She lived life to the fullest and had such a passion for helping mamas and babies breastfeed.

Kristian was goofy, compassionate, understanding, nonjudgmental, and just real. She was someone who I looked up to who helped shape not just my breastfeeding journey but also shaped how I mother my children. I am forever grateful to her for her knowledge, wisdom, grace, and love.

In honor of Kristian, if you have a picture of her, a special moment or funny memory, or any other positive vibes or prayers, please share below!

She will be deeply missed. We love you Kristian and know you are at peace with your Oma and love of your life, John Billiot. ❤️💗😢🙏🏻
