🎨 Calling All High School Artists! 🎨

Lynnwood Place Residential Assisted Living is hosting a student art contest with the theme:
“What Makes Louisiana Beautiful.”

We’re inviting local high school students to submit original artwork (18x24, portrait) to be featured in a gallery wall inside our senior living home—bringing color, creativity, and joy to our residents.

🏆 Prizes:
• 1st Place: $150 Amazon Gift Card
• Runner-Up: $100 Amazon Gift Card
• Top 10 pieces will be permanently displayed

🗓 Deadline: May 15 (we’ll coordinate school pickup) St. Tammany, Jefferson, Orleans
🎉 Gallery Showcase: August at Lynnwood Place

Art mediums welcome: watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, pen & ink, and mixed-media (must be able to be framed).

Lynnwood Place Construction: 4 month update! We have a front wall and framing is nearly complete. Today I’m showing two of my favorite areas of the house. The first is our double height common area, which will include the living room and dining room spaces. These windows are going to be glorious! The second is our bedroom corridor with a tour of a resident bedroom and private half bathroom. We are building with Oak Creek Construction and will be opening our waitlist in the next 2 to 3 months. Keep following along as we construct our residential assisted-living in Mandeville, Louisiana.

August update: our framing crew is A+ 💯 and have the front wall complete! I love to see where all the windows will be placed— natural light overload!!! Our contractor Oak Creek Construction, LLC has been taking good care of us, communicating often and moving through each step is selections and budget adjustments (which is very typical). Roofing is next! Stay tuned for updates as we watch this beauty come to life! Harmon Architects listened to our vision and drew it into being—- we’re thrilled!

We are on day 75 of our residential assisted-living construction project with Oak Creek Construction, LLC . Our post tension slab is getting prepped, with all of the footers dug last week. You can see an excess of white pipe sticking out of the dirt, representing all of the plumbing going into this house! It must be a world record… 15 toilets in this house! That’s because every resident will have their own private half bathroom for maximum privacy and a more luxury experience. Progress is really exciting: concrete poor coming very soon! Mindy Rathe rathe
