🌀 What is scoliosis — and why should we catch it early?
One of the most common issues we see in kids and teens is scoliosis — a sideways curve of the spine that usually starts developing around age 10 (sometimes even earlier). Scoliosis affects approximately 2% to 3% of the U.S. population, and studies show that females are at a much greater risk of curve progression. While a little bit of curvature might not seem like a big deal, if left unchecked, it can lead to pain, posture issues, and even breathing problems down the road.
The tricky part? Scoliosis often doesn’t cause pain at first, so it can fly under the radar. That’s why early detection is key! Studies indicate that early intervention has the potential to stop or reverse the curvature, reducing the need for more invasive interventions later on.
Here’s where chiropractic care comes in:
✅ Gentle adjustments can help support healthy spinal alignment
✅ We can monitor posture and growth patterns over time
✅ We’ll give you simple stretches and exercises to keep the spine moving and strong
✅ And most importantly, we work with you and your child every step of the way 💪
If you’ve noticed uneven shoulders, a tilted head, or your child leaning to one side — don’t wait! A quick, non-invasive screening can make a huge difference in their long-term spinal health.
