The Center for Transgender Care's conference came in the wake of threats to transgender healthcare and provided support for the affected community.

A new attendance record was set for the event, which offered workshops and resources to transgender individuals.

Newsday "The LGBT community and the trans community, specifically, are very anxious about what’s to come," said Dr. David Doc Rosenthal, founding medical director of the Northwell Health’s Center for Transgender Care at Northwell Health in New Hyde Park. "They are afraid that they won’t be able to continue their health care or continue to transition or continue to be given equal rights."
New York offers transgender people many protections, but Rosenthal said people from other states who received care at Northwell worry "their medicines will be taken away and they won’t be able to continue to receive the care they need."

For current patients of our practice, we’ll be providing three separate hour-long group sessions with one of our therapists this week for those who might need a safe space to talk things out with other like-minded community members.
