CLICK LINK ON BIO 💪🏽🔬 Exciting update! Our recent research, now published in the Clinical Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology journal, reveals a significant link between Acne Keloidalis Nuchae (AKN) and common Scarring Alopecias (also known as Primary Cicatricial Alopecia). This discovery could reshape the way we understand and treat these stubborn hair loss conditions.💡📚

Introducing our key player: "Perifollicular Infundibulo-Isthmic Lymphocytic Infiltrates and Fibrosis" (PIILIF). This link was found in every AKN patient we studied, showing promise for targeted therapies and early detection of AKN and Scarring Alopecia. 🎯🔍

What’s more, our findings suggest that PIILIF might be the root condition belying and connecting all common Scarring Alopecias like AKN, lichen planopilaris, frontal fibrosing alopecia, central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, and more. This insight could simplify classification processes by clarifying overlapping features and even rethinking some long-established categories.. 📊

In a surprising twist, our research challenges the notion that AKN only affects people of color. We found it substantially impacting (10%) European-descended White male patients too. 🌍

This new insight is a significant step forward. We're diving deeper into PIILIF's potential to enhance diagnosis and treatment, offering renewed hope for those dealing with these complex hair loss conditions. 🌟🔬.

🔬 Gratitude overflows as we share our recent study on folliculitis decalvans (FD) which published as "Refractory folliculitis decalvans treatment success with guarded high-tension sutures" in the Clinical Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology Journal. 🌟

FD, known for chronic inflammation, pain, and social struggles, has long posed a challenge. In our study, five extraordinary FD patients, who had for years battled the disease using traditional therapies without success, achieved complete remission during the 10–24-month follow-up. Their bravery and faith in our innovative approach fueled our journey.

An integral part of our success is the patented "Athena Suture Kit." I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to create it, as it has significantly contributed to solving the enduring dermatological challenge of FD.

My heartfelt thanks to the patients, their families, coauthors, and clinic staff who have united to improve the lives of those with FD and shape its future treatment—a future filled with compassion and hope. 🌟
