CAN DETOXING BE EASY?
In Ayurveda, we approach our bodies with tenderness and ease because we understand that the body is the home of our spirit, heart and soul.
But sometimes, our homes need a good cleaning.
There may be excess dosha in the body that creates imbalance.
Or toxins accumulated from our chemical-crazy culture or from our own digestive troubles.
To do this “cleaning,” it’s important to do it gently.
When we take drastic steps to cleanse/detox by radically restricting food intake or overwhelming ourselves with meal planning and complicated detox recipes, it stresses out the mind and body.
That is NOT an optimal state for the body to effectively detox.
If the body is stressed, it tends to hold onto things. Even toxins.
Instead, Ayurveda recommends we do a gentle detox that purifies, nourishes and energizes.
