Opening Ceremonies of the 2021 Olympics are next Friday! We’re here to help you celebrate with your littles!

Here are a few cooking ideas for a watch party. These recipes (pictures are in my stories for you to screenshot for later!) are from an excellent cookbook called “Cooking Class Global Feast” by Deanna F Cook! She does an incredible job of explaining the recipes to young chefs! And her use of visuals is SLP approved!

Build a snowman… without freezing your fingers off ❄️☃️
This no-snow-required activity looks cute, but it’s doing some serious behind-the-scenes work:
✔️ following directions
✔️ vocabulary + describing
✔️ turn-taking + requesting
✔️ fine-motor skills
All with stuff you already have at home. No prep. No printer. No meltdown (we love a low-bar goal).
Pro tip from your local SLP's:
Talk it through as you build.
“Big or small?”
“Where does the nose go?”
“What does your snowman like to do?”
Play first. Language follows.
Save this for the next snow day—or honestly, any random afternoon when you need an easy win. 💙
