Three Forum members attended an early screening of The M Factor 2: Before the Pause, Perimenopause in Chicago last night. The documentary premieres on PBS this March, and we were grateful for the opportunity to view it early and hear insights during the Q&A panel featuring Dr. Rahman. Thank you to Dr. Rahman for the invitation and for advancing conversations around menopause and women’s health!!

Our final speaker for the symposium is the wonderful Dr. Laila Agrawal!!

Laila Agrawal, MD is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of breast cancer at Norton Cancer Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine, completed her internal medicine residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis and her hematology and oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women’s S*xual Health (ISSWSH) and is on the board of directors of the Scientific Network on Female S*xual Health and Cancer and the Kentucky Society of Clinical Oncology. She is passionate about educating patients and medical professionals about sexual health for patients diagnosed with cancer. She has authored numerous articles and book chapters on this topic, and is a frequently invited speaker for medical conferences, patient support events, and podcasts and is active on social media.

Our next speaker will be the incredible Dr. Suneela Vegunta!

Suneela Vegunta, MD, FACP, MSCP is a board-certified internist with many years of experience in women’s health. She completed her residency at The Ohio State University and worked for several years as a faculty member. She later worked at the Kansas University Medical Center, and University of Illinois, Peoria. She served as the medical director for a federally qualified health center and as associate chief of staff for community outpatient clinics in Peoria, Illinois. She has been working at the Mayo Clinic, Arizona for the past 15 years. She holds the rank of associate professor and currently serves as the assistant director for FRAMES for the Mayo Medical school in Arizona and as the program director for the women’s health fellowship. She has spoken on multiple women’s health related topics and is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is the session leader for several Med 2 teaching sessions and
teaches Med 1-4 medical students, residents and fellows in training.

Our next speaker for this our 2026 Symposium is Dr. Ashley Winter!

Dr. Ashley Winter is a board-certified urologist, fellowship-trained in sexual medicine, with extensive experience treating sexual health concerns across all genders. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for both men and women with sexual dysfunction, offering individualized treatment plans to improve sexual health and overall quality of life. Based in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Winter—together with Dr. Klos—is working to meet the growing demand for specialized sexual health expertise. Their efforts are broadening access to care for patients from the central United States to the West Coast. Dr. Winter is a vocal advocate for vaginal estrogen to support a healthy urinary tract and to treat genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and genitourinary syndrome of lactation (GSL). She provides care for perimenopause and menopause, low testosterone for all genders, erectile dysfunction (ED), low libido, or**sm disorders, and urinary tract infections. She treats patients with cl****al adhesions, lichen sclerosus, ​hard-flaccid syndrome, and low testosterone (men and women). ​She works closely with pelvic physical therapists to coordinate care for those with pelvic floor dysfunction and chronic pelvic pain. Dr. Winter loves taking care of all genders as individuals and couples. She believes that the capacity for intimacy is fundamental towards helping people thrive. Dr. Winter lives in California with her husband, toddler, and newborn.

Ready to chat openly and honestly about sexual health? Join in person for a fun, judgment-free space where you can meet professionals across spheres, learn about sexual health, and connect with people passionate about this topic. After some mingling and learning from our community partners we welcome you to sit down for our panel discussion featuring Dr. Rachel Rubin (Urologist and Leader in the S*xual Medicine World), Dr. Camille Espinoza (S*x Therapist), and Dr. Lauren Collins (Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist), where we will learn more about sexual health in medicine and in practice! Dr. Anita Mikkilineni will be one of our 2026 Symposium speakers! .mikki_md

She joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The George Washington (GW) Medical Faculty Associates in September 2022. She primarily works at the GW Hospital and outpatient office as a generalist OBGYN. She also serves as faculty at the S*xual Health and Gender Affirmation (SAGA) Center at GW and is the OBGYN resident SAGA rotation director. Dr. Mikkilineni has a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Biology degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She then completed her Medical Degree at Drexel University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The George Washington University Hospital (GWUH) in June 2020. While at GWUH she was actively involved in women’s health advocacy and legislation. She serves as an officer for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and educates physicians on physician advocacy. She remains an active participant in the legislative priorities of her patient population both at the local and federal level. She is also a member of the medical advisory board at She+ S*xual Health Foundation and serves as chair for the advocacy committee for the International Society for the Study of Women’s S*xual Health (ISSWSH). Dr. Mikkilineni’s interests are focused on sexual health and genitopelvic pain, vulvar disorders, menopause, and women’s health advocacy. Her main academic pursuits are in improving medical student and resident trainee education in matters of sexual health and genitopelvic pain. She is also a fierce advocate for insurance and medication reform for women’s sexual health on a federal level. She has a passion for educating her patients and providing comprehensive and compassionate care. She looks forward to working with women as they navigate through the many joys and challenges of women’s health.

Dr. Rachel S. Rubin will be moderating the 2026 Symposium!

She is a board-certified urologist and nationally recognized expert in sexual medicine. She is one of the few physicians fellowship-trained in both female and male sexual health and serves as an assistant clinical professor of urology at Georgetown University. Dr. Rubin is the former education chair and current director-at-large for the International Society for the Study of Women’s S*xual Health (ISSWSH), and she serves on the editorial board for the Journal of S*xual Medicine and the Video Journal of S*xual Medicine (VJSM). She contributed to the 2025 American Urological Association (AUA) Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) guidelines and is deeply involved in research, education, and advocacy to improve access to evidence-based care. She is the founder of the S*xual Medicine Research Team, a collaborative effort dedicated to advancing clinical research in sexual medicine; serves as an associate editor of the journal S*xual Medicine Reviews; and hosts a popular video series, “S*x Matters,” on Medscape. She is an advisor of the Forum.

Forum members met up for dinner in West Loop Chicago with out advisor Lauren Streicher MD! One of the great things about being a member at is meeting students with similar interests across med schools and connecting with our advisors who are passionate about student education!
