JointFit Chiropractic & Sports Medicine Center

JointFit Chiropractic & Sports Medicine Center We'll help you put the pieces together for a lifetime of performance! Our philosophy is simple: deliver the right care at the right time.

JointFit Chiropractic & Sports Medicine Center is a premier center in NE Kansas for evaluation of joint or soft tissue injuries. We put the patient at the center of care, rather than try to make every patient fit into a particular technique system. Through thorough assessments and movement screening, we are able to accurately assess what was injured, but even more importantly, why it was injured.

🌟 Meet our newest member of the team- Dr. Kelley Maneage, Chiropractor & Athletic Trainer 🌟

Hi, I’m Dr. Kelley Maneage, and I’m excited to be part of the Jointfit team. Originally from Minnesota, I moved to Manhattan to pursue my studies at Kansas State University, where I earned my degree in Athletic Training in May 2021. During my time at K-State, I had the privilege of working with teams like KSU Football, Women’s Basketball, and Cheerleading, as well as gaining valuable experience at a physical therapy clinic.

I continued my education at Northwestern Health Sciences, earning my Doctorate in Chiropractic with an emphasis in Sports and Rehabilitation in December 2024. My journey into chiropractic care was inspired by my own experiences as a former basketball player and cheerleader, where I faced multiple concussions. This led me to explore the benefits of chiropractic treatment, which sparked my passion for understanding injury management and recovery through chiropractic care.

In my practice, I use an evidence-based approach, combining adjustments, cupping, graston, and personalized movement exercises to tailor treatments to each patient's needs. My goal is to create a healing environment that helps you manage and alleviate pain in a way that works best for your body.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog, Nova—our favorite activity is visiting the lake. I’m also a big fan of KSU athletics and love attending games to cheer on the Wildcats. Hockey is another passion of mine, and I’ve had the pleasure of coaching cheerleading, so I’m always excited to be involved in those communities.

You can find me at the clinic or out covering local events around Manhattan. I’m thrilled to be back in this wonderful community and look forward to helping you achieve better health and wellness!

Two weeks ago Dr. Blaine Tharman and our office intern, student doctor Aimee Henry, attended a seminar on how to manage TMJ pain and dysfunction. At the seminar they also learned how to effectively integrate care with dentists. Here are a few fun facts they learned:

💥 Common symptoms of TMJ dysfunction: neck pain, jaw pain, earaches, headaches, and/or clicking in the jaw with mouth opening.

💥 50% of people with neck pain will have TMJ dysfunction, often as the primary problem (Lewit, 1999).

💥 80% of TMJ dysfunction that is not caused by trauma resolves with conservative treatment (Brooke et al., 1993).

If you or someone you know have any of these symptoms call 785-320-6868 to schedule an appointment!

Check out this beautiful picture of a very healthy rotator cuff tendon (supraspinatus) taken with our Logiq E9 XDClear 2.0 ultrasound system. This was done with the patient in the office, without having to lay on a table for 40 minutes in an MRI machine, at 1/10th the cost! Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) is such a valuable tool in a practice that deals with soft tissue injuries. Did you know is one of 5 clinics in KS that has a provider certified registered in musculoskeletal ultrasound (RMSK) by the APCA?

The shoulder houses a lot of potential pain generators in fairly small region. We use diagnostic ultrasound in combination with a thorough clinical exam to arrive at a precise diagnosis.

Then we do a thorough movement and joint screen to figure out the "why" so we can create a tailored rehabilitation plan that address joint restrictions, muscle imbalances/tightness/weakness/inhibitions, and dysfunctional motor patterns! It helps us help you get the best improvement possible in the shortest amount of time!...(if you do your exercises!)

As a sports chiropractic clinic, differentiating between peritenonitis, tendinitis, tendinosis, and retrocalcaneal bursitis is important because our treatment strategies are quite different with those things.

We love using Logiq E9 XD clear 2.0 and its amazing power doppler imaging to help us see what's up under there!

This is a 65 year old woman with retrocalcaneal pain. The picture on the right is her achilles tendon at initial exam. The image on the left is her 10 weeks later!

Can you spot the pathologies?
We saw a large posterior calcaneal enthesophyte, severe pertenonitis, and advanced insertional tendinosis with abnormal neovascularization.

The tendinosis made great improvement over 10 weeks with progressive loading after an ultrasound guided PRP injection. Notice the tremendous decrease in the PDI signal from the original image on the right compared to the left and a more hyperechoic tendon appearance at 10 weeks. This has correlated well with patient reported reduction pain with functional loading.

DX ultrasound helped us to see immediately that we needed to make shoe wear modifications to avoid irritation while we introduced early loading. Even though the peritenon appeared acutely inflamed to me, we did not allow the use of NSAIDS because we didn't want it to interfere with the tendon repair and recovery from PRP and rehab. We sent her to our good friends for a shoe with a vertical heel counter and higher drop to help reduce strain while she trained with our rehab protocols.
