I am proud to have had the honor of teaching a graduate course to future speech-language pathologists at Mercy College. Incorporating the brilliant and inspirational Brené Brown into my lessons was just icing on the cake. Creating classrooms where students can "rumble with vulnerability," is so important for this next generation of speech-language pathologists, as empathy is the cornerstone of our field.

What an incredible way to give back to these animals that have spent their lives performing! These retired circus animals will be trained to work with special-needs children (along with economically disadvantaged youth and the elderly). I'm thrilled to hear there will even be shows modified for children with Autism. What a remarkable program!
