Big thank you to St. Paul Lutheran in Clay Center for hosting a public Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course!

Mental Health First Aid helps people learn how to identify, understand, and respond when someone may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. Participants learn how to recognize warning signs, create a plan to offer support, and connect individuals to local resources, including Pawnee’s Crisis Stabilization Unit.

We aim to make Mental Health First Aid as common as CPR because these are skills anyone in the community can use to help support someone in a moment of need.

Take an Art Walk through downtown Manhattan and experience creativity on display!

Our Manhattan Art Walk kicked off last night, Thursday, May 21, and is now underway featuring artwork created by Pawnee’s Adult Community Services clients and by community members. Each piece reflects personal expression, creativity, and the many ways art can support healing and connection.

The exhibit runs through Thursday, June 4. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by yet, there’s still time to explore the artwork throughout downtown during open hours.

You’ll find pieces featured at Arrow Bodega, TheraPie, Tropical Sno of Manhattan, KS, and Flight Crew Coffee throughout downtown Manhattan.

🏕️ Pawnee Mental Health is grateful to receive $26,000 in community grant funding to support S.T.A.R.S. Camp!

Funding from the Daniel Keating Foundation, Ward & Brenda Morgan Community Grant, and College Avenue United Methodist Church Youth Group will help expand access to this therapeutic summer camp experience for children with serious emotional disturbances.

For many children, S.T.A.R.S. Camp is the only camp experience available to them — providing opportunities to build confidence, develop social skills, and support mental wellness in a safe and structured environment.

Thank you to our community partners for helping make this program possible!
