Last week we folded roughly 1,500 origami at the OTA origami tent. Today instructors shared all their reflections & thoughts from their experience at the tent. Thank you for all your suggestion & opinions!

OTA origami therapy association provided origami table at Japan Parade & Street Fair, 72 st. Columbus & W.Central Park yesterday. OTA nine instructors shared origami with hundred of people. Thank you JSF volunteers Wani, Maeda and OTA instructors Okada, Yuriko, Rina, Emiko, Aiko, Emi, Yuka, Toshiko, Hong. Even though their shifts were done, they taught origami to visitors & helped to clean up our tent. Hope to see you all next year~

Professor Kazuo Tsuda passed away, be loved Japanese language teacher at UNIS.
1. Farewell ceremony (flower offering/condolences)

Content: This farewell gathering will be informal and everyone is welcome to come at any time they like, and will be a place where you can remember your teacher in your own way.

2. Cremation As Professor Kazuo Tsuda departs, this will be the time to say our final farewells before the cremation.
Date and time: Tuesday, March 4, 2025 09:00 - 09:30 AM
Location: Fresh Pond Crematory

Contents: Pre-cremation attendance, simple prayer, etc. Once the cremation has begun, the ceremony will be dismissed.

3. Collection date and time: March 4, 2025 (Tuesday) 02:30-03:00 PM
Location: Fresh Pond Crematory
Address: 61-40 Mount Olivet Crescent, Middle Village, NY 11379
Content: The bone collection is a Japanese Buddhist ceremony in which attendees collect the remains of Professor Kazuo Tsuda and place them in an urn.

4. Online Memorial Service (Funeral)
For those who live far away or cannot attend the venue, we will provide an online memorial service. You can reminisce about your memories, post photos and messages on your smartphone, and use this time to remember those who helped you during your lifetime. These photos and messages will eventually be compiled into an album.

OTA provided the Origami Activity Booth for the 30th NECTJ (Previous Harumatsuri event) Bunkasai at Hunter College (695 Park Ave, NYC, NY). Thanks participants & specially to our instructors Rina, Yuriko, Toshiko for teaching origami & doing questionnaires to students as Japanese teachers.

the back they fold it as I suggested and demonstrated, only halfway down but it works if you fold it in half too as some of you did! I also prefer to fold the smaller triangles on the back of the model so I can see it as I fold it, and it helps to shape the heart.

Rochelle said "I was taught how to do this bird at the PCOC convention in San Francisco two years ago. I loved it for its simplicity, color change and its action. I later found directions for it online—I think it is easier to do if you are facing your paper and it is on a flat surface." Hope participants enjoy folding it~

Good morning OTA online participants,
below is OTA instructor's Barbara's two Origami lExhibits locally in Durham. She said "One half of a shelf on the right side is designated just for student models from my workshop. You can identify it by the origami boxes, one has the word LOVE printed on the front of the box and some are heart models on display. Hope you can see everything. Please post whatever you like to share. Thank you 💕"

Thank you Barbara & Rochelle for teaching "heart with wings & flapping bird on the prism" Toshiko said the heart model was a hit last year at OTA origami tent of Japan Parade & Street Fair. So much fun to fold them together~
