Kathy Odell Hudson, 69, of Lake City, Arkansas, formerly of Trumann, gained her heavenly wings at the Flo and Phil Jones house on August 19th, 2025.

Kathy was the daughter of the late Wilma and Selvin Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Welch, 2 sisters, Darla and Donna Gail Johnson and 2 brothers, Selvin “CJ” and Dickie Carroll Johnson.

She was a proud, hard worker who retired from Delta (Apex) after nearly 40 years of service. Kathy loved fishing, gardening, gambling, and could outwork anyone when it came to manual labor. She was a tough, strong-willed woman with a quick wit, a straight-shooting personality, and a heart that always made room for others.

She was happiest surrounded by her family—her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Kathy loved cooking big meals and having a good time. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went, even during her time at Flo & Phil Hospice House, where her kindness still shone through.

Kathys legacy is one of resilience, love, and family. She taught those around her to work hard, never fold when times got tough, and to always take care of the people you love.

She is survived by her daughters Angie (Kevin) Tate, Kendra (Jarrett) Winston, 8 grandchildren, Hunter Fike, Matt Kelley, Madison Smith, Hannah Gramling, Mekaela Welch, Gabe Carter, Zoey Winston and Kennedy Winston, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Kay Bratton (Bob), Tiney Johnson, Judy Bivens, and Helen Johnson. A bonus sister, Delois Bivens. She is also survived by a host of her nephews and nieces as well as Big Sexy.

The family wishes to thank Stacy and Mindi with Dierkson, along with aunts, uncles and best friends, for their love, care, and support throughout her journey.

Visitation and/or celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.

Your “Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.” ― Jamie Anderson
