Here's the story of my m.i.a. lately.
I have had quite the medical scare,
The night of Saturday the 8th I started to have this pain in my neck, it seemed minor at the time and went about my night. The next day it was a bit worse, but I had also stayed the night in a hotel so I just blamed the pain on the hotel bed. Then after that it had gotten worse to the point I couldn't feel things down my arm and I lost strength in my hand for grabbing things. Later I had also realized I couldn't lift my elbow but about 3 in from my body. And I'm telling my body to move it. This has scared the living daylights out of me!! Full on panic / anxiety attacks, talk about a freak out!
So I ended up going back to my primary care physician to tell her the new findings of mine and she said I needed a mri scan ASAP and that this type of thing can not wait! So thanks to dad, I got driven up to Marquette since I had been taking muscle relaxers and pain meds already for the arm/neck issue.
Got the mri scan which showed my spinal cord almost being completely pinched off by my C4 and C5 spinal sections in my neck, and my C6 was on its was to being just as bad as C5. So pretty much the only fix was emergency surgery, which still took a few days to actually do because of my blood thinners, so immediately was admitted into the hospital.
Had the surgery on Sunday the 16th. And they fused both parts of my spine instead of just the one. The surgery did not promise to bring feeling back or the ability to lift my arm (elbow part) up like before all of this went down, and sure enough it was definitely still lacking, a lot.
AND
To top all of that off, for some reason I lost a lot of feeling and strength in my left leg!!! Which is not normal, so my leg would buckle down and I wouldn't / couldn't walk. Which scared us like no tomorrow!! It was even to the point at certain times the drs and nursing staff was looking at putting me into a rehab / nursing home facility because it was going to take a lot more time than what the hospital could provide that the other facility could. Which again also terrified Tennyson and I. Slowly as time progressed I managed to get some movement and some strength back in my left leg, and my left arm is getting some feeling, but still a long ways from being recovered. I still can't lift the elbow part of my arm past about 4 inches or so. But the doctors do believe I'm ok to do the in home therapy work instead of a rehab facility!! And today the 24th I'm FINALLY able to go home!!!! (With lots of restrictions, but at least its home!!)
Through all of this I can't thank the people who've reached out, helped, sent care packages, took time to come visit me and of course Tennyson who stayed by my side through it all, including through his busy work schedule. ❤️❤️❤️
With all that being said I'm not done with Spirited Tiger by any means, I still plan on hosting more sound bowl meditations and I will be back to Drift Alchemy as soon as I'm physically able to. ❤️❤️
