Join our community space as we awaken our wild minds and reignite our land bodies. Together we will remember that attuning to the cycles and rhythms of the Land is within reach, if we can reclaim our ability to listen.

Participate in group conversations that redefine our intentions and impacts on the planet by recognizing humankind’s role as a keystone species. Through practices that engage our sensory awareness we will grow our capacity to relate with each other and non-human kin. You might just find that the lines between observer and the observed will soon begin to blur, as we realize we are an extension of nature, not an exception.

Together we will adventure the land, retell stories through animal tracking, observe the silence of sit spots, explore bird communication, play with animal mimicry, practice species identification, create land art, learn practical skills, and so much more. Let’s gather & enliven our relationship with the natural world!

β€œListening to the Land! Hearing the Earth! Relearning the language of Nature!”

Mural Art Bootcamp with JP begins Wednesday, July 9

Born and raised in New Orleans, Jamar Duvol Pierre is a self-taught artist, chef, educator, and cultural storyteller with over 25 years of experience. Known for his vibrant palette and community-centered work, his large-scale murals include the Tchoupitoulas Street Floodwall Mural and Resilience, the official artwork for New Orleans’ Tricentennial. His work has been recognized by the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Institute, and his art is held in prestigious collections including the United States Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

This summer, Jamar brings his rich storytelling and collaborative spirit to Smokebrush Farm in Manitou Springs as he leads the Mural Art Bootcamp (July 9–August 13), mentoring artists through a six-week immersive program exploring the art, craft, and business of public mural making.

He also joins the Summer Harvest Dinner Series as guest chef on August 31 for Southern-Style Sunday Supper, preparing a multi-course farm-to-table menu in the historic Rockledge House kitchen. Drawing on his New Orleans roots and the farm’s commitment to community and the land, Jamar’s menu blends Smokebrush’s seasonal harvest with his own distinctive culinary artistry.

Invoke the power of Summer Solstice in our lives and in our community!

We'll chant, move, hum, and vibrate with the Sun's brilliance, cultivating power and activating our own inner brilliance. We'll sing songs of devotion in sacred languages in simple call and response style. No experience necessary. Sing, sit, meditate, hum, dance, rest. We sing from our
natural voice to still our minds, open our hearts, and let our spirits soar. Bring your favorite morning beverage. Mats, blankets, cushions and chairs are provided.
