Check out state parks this winter—literally! ❄🌲

Explore the wintry beauty of a Minnesota state park through our Minnesota State Parks Library Program. We've partnered with libraries in each county to provide free, 7-day state park passes to library patrons interested in visiting a state park or state recreation area. Through this program, we aim to provide a way for Minnesotans living in low-income communities an opportunity to access state parks without the financial barrier of an entry fee. Enjoy a winter hike or attend a naturalist program this winter through your local library!

Every participating library will check out these passes differently, so call ahead if you have questions. Once checked out, place the pass on your dashboard so the date on the receipt is visible to park staff. These state park passes are only valid for the vehicle entrance fee, so if you’d like to camp, you’ll still need to make and pay for camping reservations. When you are finished with your visit, just recycle the pass and let others know about the program!
