We are so proud of our Board Member, Lynnette Engeswick! 🎉

Lynnette has been selected to present at the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene, in Milan Italy! Her topic hits close to home: Interprofessional Dental Hygiene Care for Adults With Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a Community Residential Setting.

Her presentation shines a spotlight on a program we love, the HMC Dental Hygiene Program, which brings students from the College of Allied Health & Nursing-Minnesota State University, Mankato right into the homes of the people we serve. Each year, Lynnette and her students work with HMC through an eight week interactive experience. The students work alongside the people we support, teaching them about brushing and flossing, helping them practice those skills, and making recommendations to their care teams.

The friendships quickly become the best part of this experience. And the connections that form between students and the people we serve are real, meaningful, and lasting, and they make a difference for everyone involved.

Congratulations, Lynnette, on taking this work to an international stage. We couldn't be more proud! 👏

Today, April 2, we recognize World Autism Acceptance Day 💙

Originally established to raise awareness, this day has grown into a global movement focused on acceptance, inclusion, and celebrating neurodiversity. Autistic individuals contribute so much to our communities, yet many still face barriers to education, housing, and belonging.

This year’s theme, “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value,” reminds us that every person deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to thrive.

Autism Acceptance Month is about about listening, learning, and taking action to build inclusive spaces where differences are not just accepted, but valued.

Let’s move beyond awareness and into meaningful acceptance. 💙

This Women’s History Month, we proudly honor the extraordinary women who serve as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). 💙

Did you know that 75.6% of all DSPs in the United States are women? These incredible professionals are the foundation of the human services industry. Women historically offer compassion, dignity, and essential support to individuals with disabilities every single day.

To every woman working in a DSP role:
Your leadership, empathy, and unwavering dedication strengthen our communities and elevate the quality of care for the people you support. You are making history every day. 🌸

Thank you for everything you do.
