Lasting Imprint, along with fellow heart warriors and families, knows how important it is to advocate for, not only younger children, but also our heart warriors who are becoming adults. We are thankful for the help from Babs Freeman who came up with a very important survey. Below you can read more about her and what prompted this. In the comments you will find the survey. The more people who take the time to complete it the better!
Hi! I'm Babs Freeman. You may have read my heart story on this page before or your child received a Cuddle Bear book and bear when I did a book drive a few years ago for Lasting Imprint!
I am a CHD warrior and WomenHeart champion and through that a strong advocate for people just like me! WomenHeart is a non profit volunteer organization of all women with heart disease promoting education, prevention and advocacy for heart disease. My passion is to help those who have Congenital Heart Diseases (CHDs) I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) and struggled throughout the years, specifically my teen years, on how to cope with my CHD. I’ve been in your shoes before. I know how much it can take out of you when dealing with your CHD, physically, emotionally and mentally!
I'm working on a project through both U of M (their Launch program) and Mayo Clinic to develop a questionnaire for both teens with CHD and their parents to help them with their mental health. This short survey will help with base research for this project. Thank you for taking the time to doing this survey. Feel free to email me at bubblybabs222@yahoo.com if you want to follow up with any of the questions or message me on Facebook. I am more than happy to help!
