A resource for you all! 🫰🏻

"Bereaved parents are why was originally founded. Parents who had experienced the worst tragedy imaginable came together as a community in support and solidarity of each other. Because of them, HOPE exists. And because of that history, we are especially grateful and excited to once again offer this dedicated space of support.

A Life Remembered is a 10-week support group for parents grieving the death of a child.

🗓 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month
📅 Beginning April 6
⏰ 6:00 – 7:30 PM
📍 HOPE for Bereaved | 4500 Onondaga Blvd

Over the course of ten weeks, participants will explore meaningful topics including:
Common myths of grief
Embracing the uniqueness of your grief
Exploring feelings of loss
Understanding the 6 Needs of Mourning
Nurturing yourself
Asking for help
Seeking reconciliation (not resolution)

But most importantly, bereaved parents will find a community of people who 'get it.'"

We were so busy today - in the very best way!! 🪽

From watching Nicole and Cara present at Manlius Pebble Hill School on how stress and adversity impact the brain and body - to seeing Alexa, Christine, Lori, and Erin support them through the day and workshops that followed - to having Zac and Jade show up for us at Lemoyne College's Winter Party and Information Fair! 😎

Our partnerships and community events are so important to us. It's always such a pleasure and we're so proud of our team. Keep an eye out - hopefully we'll see you around 🫵🏽👀

Our take on this trend - because when no matter how old we get, our littlest selves will always be a part of us. ❤️ Look out for another round (our team is just too sweet not to share more!). ☺️

Thank you for tuning into our "Monday Misconceptions" series! We're wrapping it up with one last misconception that we see too often... because therapy is a lot of things, but it isn't about us as the therapist. Therapy should be about YOU - what you're bringing to the table and how you want to grow. 🌿

Let us know what you think and feel free to drop a guess about our next Monday series👀

We hope this week has been kind to you. 🩷

The grey weather has been strong this past week, and we want to invite you to reset with us. Think back through this week, and find a glimmer of happiness, peace, or contentment. Breathe that feeling in, then exhale any heaviness you might carry into the weekend. Repeat until you feel ready to move. You have the power to do what you need. 💪🌟

"Monday Misconceptions" continued! 💫

This week, we're thinking about misconceptions we see in the media. When something is posted online, it's easy to assume that what we see is valid. However, media can be altered, edited, polished, scheduled, specifically designed... this means that we shouldn't forget to double-check what we see. If you find yourself feeling the weight of what you see online, you can always put the phone down, verify the source of information, or choose one thing you'd like to learn about for the week and put your energy there.

It's hard to stay informed about every little thing, don't let the "doomscrolling" take you away! We hope that your Monday media isn't too overwhelming. 🗞

Mondays can be tough - to help with that, we wanted to start a series called "Monday Misconceptions." For the next few Mondays, we'll address some misconceptions or assumptions about mental health and how to address it.

Starting us off are some misconceptions about how we manage emotions. Too often we hear, "I'm fine" from our children, "I can just get over it" from our partners, or "It's only stress" from ourselves. Yet, when we brush off our feelings, we do ourselves a disservice. Swipe to see how we can replace typical misconceptions about our feelings with simple affirmations! There is so much power in a simple reframe 🪟, and it can start NOW 💥

Therapy isn’t just when the bottom is dropping out…it’s one of the best forms of self-care that one can do for prevention and optimal living (aka happiness).

Therapy Isn’t Just for Crisis, It’s for Clarity. 👐

When life feels off, therapy can help make things feel right again. Dr. Melissa Carman of CNY Mental Health Counseling, PLLC shares how small internal whispers, “maybe it could feel better,” can be the start of transformation. 🧡

No crisis required. No diagnosis needed. Just a desire to feel more grounded, connected, and whole. 💬
