We made it to March!🍀 In our little vinyl corner of the world we are honoring ✨Women’s History Month✨ each week of this month I will feature albums by female artists that pay respect to women who inspire me everyday.

Album of the week: Week 11 - Blue - Joni Mitchell (1971)

This album was inspired by Joni’s travels through Europe as well as her relationships with Graham Nash and James Taylor. Its emotional themes and raw vocals paved the way for “confessional songwriting”.

Even more than 50 years later every human can relate to the draw to wander, romantic loss, the ache of wanting connection but also craving freedom.

Is it scarier to love something and lose it than to never love at all?

Join Tracee Young, FNP for a free seminar hosted at our Center in Manlius!
Moving From Selfish to Self-Care is an empowering, education-based session designed to help women—especially those in midlife—understand what’s really happening in their bodies and why prioritizing their health is not selfish, but essential.
We’ll explore common and often misunderstood symptoms related to stress, hormones, perimenopause, and menopause, why so many women feel dismissed or unheard in healthcare, and how to begin advocating for your health with clarity and confidence. You’ll leave with practical tools, language you can use with your providers, and a clear understanding of what supportive, evidence-based care can look like.
This is a supportive, judgment-free space to learn, feel validated, and reconnect with your health—on your terms.
Perfect for women who:
Feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or unheard
Are navigating midlife, perimenopause, or menopause
Want clear, trustworthy health education
Are ready to move from survival mode to supported self-care
✨ Because caring for yourself isn’t selfish—it’s foundational.

It’s time to get funky!

Album of the week: Week 9 - Maggot Brain - Funkadelic (1971)

A lot of music lovers believe that the masterpiece of a title track on this album is the most emotionally heavy song in musics history. It is a 10 minute long psychedelic jam, played by Eddie Hazel with the emotion of a heartbroken son.

Funkadelic’s leader, George Clinton prompted him to go into the recording booth and play “like you just got a phone call that your mother has just died” and in the second half of the jam he said “play like you just found out she’s still alive”.

What’s your favorite funk album?

February is Black History month! All month I will feature black artists and their contributions to music.

Album of the week: Week 8 - Stankonia - OutKast (2000) 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Stankonia to its core is about individuality and that it’s okay to express complexities within ourselves or with the state of the world at large.

✨OutKast makes weird feel beautiful and rebellious✨and that’s one of the many reasons I love this album.
Be weird! Be confused! But most importantly, be you. The rest will fall into place.
