On Monday, October 27, 2025, Alberteen Martin Thompson, widow of the late Ulysses Thompson Sr., exchanged her rugged cross for her precious crown at her residence in Manning, South Carolina.

Born on Wednesday, May 20, 1936, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Katie Black "Sing" Martin Sr.

A service of remembrance celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00pm from the Mt. Zero Missionary Baptist Church, 7827 Paxville Hwy., Manning, where the Rev. Ranzy McFadden Jr., pastor of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, (Silver Community) will preside. The Rev. Corey L. Thompson will bring words of comfort. The service of committal will follow in the family plot located in the Mt. Zero Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
