Our sympathies are extended to the family and friends of Ronald Lee Boyce, Sr., age 66 of Farmington, WV who passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his residence. He was born June 23, 1959 in Fairmont, WV a son of Richard Boyce of Fairmont and the late Eleanor Hayhurst Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Texa Catherine Boyce, his son Ronald Lee and Elizabeth Boyce Jr. of Farmington and his two grandchildren, Ayden Lee Boyce of Farmington and Lariah Zinn Boyce of Farmington. Ronald is also survived by two brothers, Richard and Debbie Boyce of Mannington and Roger Anderson and fiancé Lisa Kramer of Franklin, WV, his sister Marlene Simmons and fiancé Jay Fitzwater of Petersburg, WV, two brothers-in-law, John and Susan Longwell of Ohio and Theodore Wolfe of Farmington, two sisters-in-law, Donna Riggs of Ohio and Beverly Longwell of Farmington, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents Charley and Katherine Hayhurst, two brothers-in-law, Ernie Longwell and Thomas Little, a sister-in-law Emma Jean Wolfe, and his step-father Eddy Anderson.

Ronald worked for Yost/Yost Pipe in Daybrook as well as for Asplundh Tree Company. He enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his grandkids, nieces and nephews!

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025 from 1-6:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 6:00pm. Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of Mark Anthony Shuman, age 47 of Wileyville, WV who passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born February 25, 1978 in Orville, OH a son of Roger Shuman of Middlebourne, WV and the late Betty Snyder Shuman.

He is survived by his wife Trina Lynn Wade Shuman, with whom he was married to for 15 years, his son Skyler (Maggie) Shuman of Wileyville, his two daughters, Sara Shuman and Angel (Sean) McCarty of Triadelphia, and two grandchildren, Sofia Shuman and William McCarty. Mark is also survived by two sisters, Misty (Donald) Ferrell of Tennessee and Brandy Barnes of Elkins, and his brother Roger “RJ” (Peggy) Shuman of Elkins.

Mark attended Hundred High School and graduated from the Mountaineer Challenge Academy in 1996. He was employed at L.P.S. Traffic Control and also did handyman work as he was as a “Mr. Fix It”. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and family was very important to him!

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm with funeral services beginning at 12pm with Pastor James Barnhart officiating. Interment will follow at the Yost Cemetery in Earnshaw.

Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of Timothy Alan “Tim” Toothman, age 59 of Plum Run, Mannington, WV who passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his residence. He was born May 26, 1966 in Fairmont, WV a son of Burl Toothman and Diane Thorne Toothman.

In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by his sister Tami Toothman-Shoop of Philippi and her husband Larry, close friends of the family Phil and Suzette Prichard of Mannington, and many friends.

Tim worked as an Associate Broker with Vantage Point Reality as well as a clerk for Phil Prichard in Mannington. He also had worked at the Marion County Blood Bank in Orlando, FL where he was a Regional Director, and when he was younger, for Muriale’s Restaurant for 10 years. Tim was also a caretaker for his parents. He never knew a stranger and was always known as an all-around good guy!

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents Burl and Melba Toothman, and Mont and Ada Thorne, and his brother Zane Toothman.

There will be no funeral home services as cremation has been chosen as the final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.

Its been 6 years since this page started and it is still growing and progressing! Thank you to our families, friends and community for your support, your encouragement, your patience, and especially the respect and proper use of a resource like this! We have little to no problems ever and that it greatly appreciated!

Our condolences are extended to family and friends of Harry James. Vaughan Sr. age 74 of Mannington WV who passed away at home on Monday, August 18, 2025. He was born July 10, 1951 in Camden, NJ. to the late Harry Byron Vaughan and Deloris Rose Freehoff.

He is survived by the love of his life Judy Hamilton of Mannington, his sisters Linda Deal, Charlene Catus and Mike of North Carolina. His son Harry Vaughan Jr. and Donna of Mannington, his daughter Tabatha Vaughan. Stepchildren, Maranda Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, David Hamilton, and Robert Hamilton. Grandchildren: Nicholas Vaughan and Shyann Vaughan, Austin Vaughan, Destiny Smith, Jacob Smith, Brook Hamilton and Neil Bland, Keith and Morgan Hamilton, Darian, Chelsea and Victoria Hamilton. Great grandchildren Paisley, Jayce, Hennessy, Therian and Sofia Vaughan, Isaiah Lucas, Xaynea Shreve. Many nieces and nephews in NC.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother in-law Melvin Deal of NC. one great grandchild. Nicholas Vaughan Jr.

Harry’s true love was Judy Hamilton for 32 yrs. Harry and Judy built things together and totally remodeled their home, inside and out together. Harry was a very smart man. He could build almost anything. He built two CNC machines, his own computers and much more. He made things on 3D printers. He even made all his own circuit boards. He worked in the mines for 35 yrs. Rachel mines and Federal 2 mines. He enjoyed doing things with his son and his son was always there for him.

There will be no funeral services as cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington is in charge of the final arrangements.

Our sympathies are extended to the family and friends of Barbara Ann Moore, age 81, of Wallace, who passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at her residence. She was born October 3, 1943 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Russell Jones and Alberta Austin Jones.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Andrea Jarvis and husband Hanger of Wallace, Danielle Martin and companion Tracy McCoy of Wyatt, and her son Michael Shawn Collett and wife Crystal of Margarette, five grandchildren, Michael Collett, Shawnah Rouse, Christopher Collett, Rachelle Jarvis and Dominick Jarvis, and 11 great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Camden, Kade, Blaine, Joselynn, Gavin, Aurora, Laylee, Herman, Killian and Rowon.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband William Thomas Moore who died on January 23, 2025.

Barbara was a homemaker most of her life and was a seamstress who enjoyed working in her yard and with her flower gardens. At one time, she helped out at the taxidermy with her husband Tom.

There will be no funeral services as cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.

Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of William George “Bo” Brown Jr, 78 of Mannington, WV who passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025 at the WV Veterans Nursing Facility. He was born May 12, 1947 in Mannington, WV a son of the late William George Brown Sr. and Dorothy Belle Eddy Brown.

He is survived by his brother Lonnie Joe Brown of Osceola, Indiana, two nieces, Deaina (Larry) Stephen of Osceola, Indiana, Tanya (Joe) Dewitt of Elkart, Indiana, and one nephew, Lonnie Joe Brown Jr. (Penny) of Elkart, Indiana.

In addition to his parents, Bo was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Rose Brown and one niece, Dewana Brown.

Bo was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam after graduating of Mannington High School. He was member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington and had retired from Fairmont General Hospital with 33 years of employment in the laundry department.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 10:00am-12:00pm with funeral services beginning at 12:00pm with Pastor Jason Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery where full Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the Marion County Veterans Council.

Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of John Herbert Melvin, 69 of Smithfield, WV and Chesterfield, VA who passed away Friday, August 8, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Melvin, and brother David Timothy Melvin and his wife Tina.

John is survived by his wife of 38 years Pamela Melvin, his daughter Nicole Melvin, and three siblings, Carol Rodriguez, Michael Melvin (Pamela) and Cheryl Stinson.

John enjoyed his retirement to West Virginia and a simple quiet mountain life. He will be greatly missed and may he rest easy at the poker table in the sky. “I’m in the middle, I’m in the cup.”

There will be no funeral services as cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.

Our sympathies are extended to the family and friends of Stella Covey Heldreth Lovett, 94 of Metz, WV who gained her angel wings and went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2025, at home with her family at her side. She was born December 22, 1930 in Kilarm, WV, the 11th of 12 children born to Jerry H. Covey and Mary Jane (Mollie) Underwood Covey.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Heldreth Breckon and son Sam and Beverly Heldreth. She was raised in the pasture field in Rachel and attended Downs Grade School of Rachel and graduated from Farmington High School in the class of 1950. Stella worked at Westinghouse, was part of the Women’s Army Corps (WACS), then worked for general industries in Elyria, OH where she made timers for bombs. She then returned to Rachel where she married Chester L. Heldreth and became a housewife and a mother of 3 children, Valerie, Samuel, and Susan. In April 1965 she became a widow when Chester was killed in a mining explosion. In 1973 she married Jack Lovett and moved to Metz, WV where they lived until his death in 1998 and then hers.

Stella attended Idamay Zion Assembly church of God for many years and was the oldest member. She was an avid sports fan. She played basketball in high school, volleyball in the army, a league bowler winning many trophies including high score 254 in a single game and high series. She played 3rd base and short stop in soft ball until she was 53, and golfed well into her 70’s. She had many many great stories to tell to her many family members about their family members.

In addition to her son and daughter, she is survived by her grandchildren Frankie and Andrew Riffle (Trenda), Amber Beatty, James Fallon, and Walter Carr, great grandchildren Elizabeth Wolfe, Elijah Beatty, Nicholas and Jacob Carr. In addition she has a multitude of nieces and nephews with many just like additional grandchildren to her. She also has a surviving son-in-law, Dave Craig.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Craig, and all of her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Lloyd, Clarence, Jerry, Bessie, Louise, Bertha, Pearlene, Mary Ellen, Josephine, Eula and Mary Francis. Included to the above is her tiny great-great-granddaughter and name sake Stella Mae Francis, many nieces and nephews, and son-in-law Michael Breckon.

Thank you to her 2 special friends Julie Jones and Rose Snyder for all their love, help, and support through the years. And also special thank you to the wonderful staff of Amedysis Hospice.

Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of Tommy Bernard “Skinny” Hamrick, age 88 of Odells K**b, Mannington, WV who passed away July 27, 2025 at WVU Fairmont Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1936 in Diana, WV a son of the late Lacy Franklin Hamrick and Zomie Gladys Smith Hamrick.

He is survived by wife Virginia Lee Hinerman Hamrick with whom he married on October 29, 1955, five children, Margie (Brian) Green of Ashtabula, OH, Janet (Warren) Sischo of Kennedy, NY, Johnny Hamrick and companion Annette Justus of Mannington, Tina (Christopher) Arnold of Ashtabula, OH, and Jennifer Hamrick, who was his caregiver, and her companion Michael Rogers of Mannington, a daughter-in-law Denise Hamrick, granddaughters Lacy Miller and Mandy “Pup” Hudson, both whom took care of him, 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Tommy was also survived by two sisters, Madeline Dodge of Ashtabula, OH and Adderine Adkinson of Alabama, and several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs Jasmine and Mo.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his son Dana Bernard Hamrick on May 7, 2019, two infants at birth, Danny and Tommy Hamrick, twin daugters Crystal and Christine Hamrick who died at birth, his brothers Willie, Raymond, George, Roy, Clifford Franklin and John, his sisters Lorene, Irene, Corine and Katherine, and his daughter-in-law Brenda Lee Hamrick.

Tommy worked at several jobs including a truck driver, salt and coal mine, a gravedigger, and a skidder operator. He truly was a “jack-of-all-trades”. He was a great acoustic guitar player and was inducted into the West Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame on September 2008. He was loved by all of his family and had many, many friends.

Our condolences are extended to the family and friends of Brenda Lee Hamrick, age 71 of Wyatt Rd., Mannington, WV who passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Pierpont Center on the Fairmont Campus. She was born August 11, 1954 in Brockton, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Norman Bernard Ibbitson and Alice May Nickerson Ibbitson.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Johnny Ray Hamrick of Mannington, her daughter Heidi Michelle Febus of North Carolina, two grandchildren, Johnny Dallas (Mary) Timmons of North Carolina and Serenity Timmons of North Carolina, and two great-grandchildren, Dalton and Madison. Brenda is also survived by her sister Sheryl Buchor of Alabama, two nephews, Brian and Jesse, her niece Wendy, and her great-nephew Calvin.

Brenda was a homemaker and a good hearted woman who loved to go to yard sales and buy things for others. Johnny and Brenda renewed their marriage vows on August 10, 2019.

There will be no funeral home services as direct cremation has been chosen as the final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
