What is Cranial Sacral Therapy?
It is a gentle form of manual therapy that focuses on manipulation of the bones and tissues of the skull, spinal column, and sacrum to relieve tension in the body and improve the functioning of the central nervous system. The therapy is based on the idea that the cerebrospinal fluid has a rhythmic pulse that can be felt and manipulated by a skilled practitioner.

During a session, I use very light touch and gentle pressure to assess the the rhythm and movement of the craniosacral system, and work to release restrictions or tensions in the tissues that may be contributing to pain or discomfort, or other symptoms. The therapy is often used to assist in the treatment of headaches, neck and back pain, stress and anxiety, and TMJ disorders, among others.

In addition to being a Licensed Massage Therapist, I am a Certified Cranial Sacral Practitioner, having completed my advanced training under Dr. Ron Wish at the Great River Cranial Sacral Therapy Institute in Nyack, NY.

While I’ve been enjoying watching the birds (and I think they may be keeping an eye on me as well) I’m excited to share that I am able to go back to work, doing what I LOVE starting the week of February 14th, after 3 months away! I am starting slow, but anticipate being able to be back up to my usual schedule by March. Book soon- appointments are limited in February!
