Patterson Purvis Mortuary would like to take a moment to appreciate and acknowledge all of the men and women who risk their lives each day to protect us here in Louisiana. Our highest level of state government has deemed this day, May 4, 2025 as a day to acknowledge those firemen who have risked their lives to proctect our communities.
In honor of this day we’d like to recognize our special fire hero Captain Frankie Paul Nelson who served selflessly on the Shreveport Fire Dept and was married to Rosalind Patterson Nelson until his passing in 2009. Captain Nelson’s legacy lives on through his three children and now two grandchildren. To further pay homage to his legacy the chapel of Patterson Purvis Mortuary is named in his honor.
Not a day goes by that his sacrifices aren’t acknowledged as this funeral home continues to grow on a professional and community focused level.
