Our Story
Dr. Mark Bishara is a member the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association. He currently holds licenses to practice surgery in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas and Florida.
Dr. Bishara's special interests include cosmetic surgery of the breast (including augmentation and breast lift), rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty (tummy-tuck), liposuction, cosmetic surgery of the face, autologous fat transfer, and body contouring surgery after massive weight loss.
Dr. Bishara also provides a full array of minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, such as injectable fillers, Botox, and hair restoration including transplantation. He offers the latest technique in hair transplantation, known as follicular unit extraction (FUE) - a bloodless procedure that is essentially pain-free and does not involve the traditional incision of the scalp.
A native-born Texan, Dr. Bishara grew up in the Dallas area and graduated from Duncanville High School, where he was co-captain of the football team. He received his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science at Texas A & M University in College Station and then studied basic medical sciences and worked in multi-specialty charity clinics in underserved areas of Latin America before returning to the United States for two years of clinical training at New York Medical College.
Dr. Bishara then completed a five-year residency in general surgery at Morristown Memorial hospital, which is affiliated with the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical School in Manhattan, New York. During this time he founded the American Plastic and Reconstructive Research Association - an industrial think-tank for novel concepts and respective clinical applications in plastic surgery. He then completed a fellowship appointment in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at Harvard Medical School at the world-renowned Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
During his fellowship, Dr. Bishara gained state-of-the-art skills in autologous fat transfer, body contouring after massive weight loss, reconstruction of Mohs defects of the face, neck and scalp, and aesthetic and reconstructive breast procedures. He has had several publications and has traveled nationally to speak on topics such as Risk Analysis of Combined Procedures in Body Contouring after Massive Weight Loss. Dr. Bishara is also active in patient education through seminars in body contouring surgery after massive weight loss within the Harvard community.
After completion of his fellowship, Dr. Bishara completed additional training in hair transplantation with Dr. Mark Distefano in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has performed hair restoration procedures with Dr. Distefano in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Manhattan.
