Dr. Julie grew up in Arlington, Texas where she graduated with honors from Arlington High School. Not wanting to be too far from her family, she attended Southern Methodist University. During her senior year in college, her mother, back in Arlington, Texas, became pregnant. Dr. Julie moved back home to Arlington for the last few months of her mother’s pregnancy and the first six months of her new baby brother’s life. Not wanting to be too far from her baby brother, she felt lucky to be accepted to one the of the top medical schools in the country - UT Southwestern Medical School. It was during these first few years in school and her brother’s life that she decided to become a pediatrician. His day to day development and curiosity inspired her to pursue a career in pediatrics and to become a doctor for children in Mansfield. She graduated medical school in 1999, and began residency later that year at Children’s Medical Center. She would always want to hear from her new brother’s pediatrician back in Arlington about his growth and development.
Dr. Julie finished her residency in the summer of 2002 and married her sweetheart, Bradly Tomberlin, later that year. They moved to Mansfield and she opened her pediatric medical practice just a few miles away on Hunters Row Court in January 2003. Dr. Julie quickly developed her “style” of pediatrics, focusing on teaching, spending time with the kids, and getting to know the families she treats. As a pediatrician, Dr. Julie wanted to make sure the children she cared for also knew that her pediatric office was a warm, inviting place for them to go.
She found that she could be an effective pediatrician while in jeans and a ponytail. Her parents discovered that the children are much less frightened this way than when she wore a white doctor’s coat. Also, playing on the floor with the kids makes for a much more pleasant experience for everyone involved (patient, parent, and pediatrician!).
Dr. Julie currently resides in Mansfield with her husband and their 3 dogs. She loves this community and thrives on the excellent care given to her patients through her pediatric practice. As she often says, she feels called to do this work and couldn’t imagine life without “her kids.” Being a pediatrician in Mansfield has been a life goal fulfilled.
Mandy was born in Killeen Texas then moved shortly after to New Hampshire where her family lived for about 4 years. From there they moved to Missouri where she stayed through high school. After graduating with honors she made her way back to Texas on a scholarship. She attended Southwestern Adventist University and the University of Texas Arlington where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then went on to become a Nurse Practitioner, graduating from Texas Woman’s University Dallas with a Masters of Science in early 2014.
Mandy has been married to her college sweetheart for about 8 years and they just recently had their first baby girl in July. When she is not working, she loves being a mommy and spending time with her husband and two French bulldogs. They both enjoy traveling and being outdoors. Their adventures include hiking, camping, and biking, as well as kayaking, snowboarding and even skydiving.
Mandy is thrilled to be working with Dr. Tomberlin and her team. She has a true passion for kiddos and loves spending time building relationships with all the families. Mandy feels that her bubbly personality and love for kiddos make her a great fit in this practice. She loves to play and have fun, and kids seem to sense this about her. With an easy and reassuring style, Mandy develops relationships with her patients that allow them to enjoy an appointment to the doctor. Her goal is to make the appointment fun for the child and reassuring for the parent.
Mindy, like Dr. Julie, grew up locally and is a graduate of Arlington High School. She went on to attend Baylor University to pursue her passion for nursing. Her time in undergrad afforded her a wonderful opportunity to study abroad which has fed her love for traveling ever since.
Upon graduating from Baylor, Mindy spent years enjoying the labor and love a career in nursing provides. After spending several years caring for children in ICUs across the country, Mindy was called to make more of the gift she has for serving others. She graduated from the University of Texas Arlington as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Mindy is excited for the opportunity to create lasting relationships with her patients. She has a true love for teaching that shines through each time she interacts with our families. The kindness in her heart is shared both through her patient care and her commitment to sponsorship of orphans in West Africa. When Mindy is not here in the office, she enjoys cooking, spending time with friends and family, and relaxing with a good book.
Kelti was born and raised in Austin, Texas where she dedicated 10 years to competitive and school cheerleading, ran on her middle and high school track team, and graduated high school with honors. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Abilene Christian University where she ran track her freshman year, and also met the love of her life whom she would go on to marry. Following graduation, Kelti spent the majority of her time as a Registered Nurse working with mothers and babies after delivery. She absolutely loved caring for and educating growing families. After 4 years of working as a Registered Nurse, Kelti earned her Masters of Science from Texas Tech University to become a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Kelti loves being around kids because they each bring their own style of energy and joy into her day. Her passion for working with children dates back to when she was a child herself. As a 4th grader, Kelti started (with the supervision of her parents) a week-long summer camp filled with games, crafts, and activities for the younger kids in her neighborhood. Since then, she’s continued to take every opportunity in her path to invest in the younger generations.
Currently, Kelti and her husband volunteer with their church's middle school ministry and greatly enjoy getting to be a part of such a fun time in their lives. She also has a heart for international missions and has served on several trips to Ecuador and Nicaragua to work with children and their families. When Kelti is not working, she enjoys reading, writing, traveling, being outdoors, Saturday brunching, and spending time with family and friends.
Kelti feels that joining Dr. Julie's practice, working with her wonderful team, and getting to meet her sweet patients and their families has been the greatest blessing and an answered prayer.
