1. Ashwaghanda and/or magnesium can help you manage stress and relax which is key to staving off weight gain, hot flushes, night sweats, poor sleep 2. Improve gut health—the bloating and gas —with probiotics (sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha), fiber (fruits and veggies, even metamucil) and mindful eating- slow down to savor and enjoy whole food nutrition. 3. Yeah, so you are not crazy! Its rough in these peri steets trying to lose weight. Let’s simplify it.
1. Decide to take charge of the situation
2. Eat more protein and fiber
3. Drink water and avoid sweet sugary drinks
4. Walk daily at least 30 minutes
5. Strength train 3-4 days per week

No one prepared me for this. . . Here’s what else I wish I knew.
1. Hormone therapy can be used during periods+ menopause
2. The WHI study that turned treatment for menopause upside down has been debunked.
3. Estradiol (estrogen) does not cause breast cancer as it was once believed.
4. Most of us doctors were not trained on perimenopause well
5. I’m not crazy. Help is available and it’s not just one answer but a combo of lifestyle and hormone therapy
