Texas State University has introduced “Introduction to Architectural Psychopathology,” a first-of-its-kind interior design course that guides designers on how to create spaces for individuals who live with autism, dementia, depression, schizophrenia and anxiety disorders. Students taking the course are trained to create interior spaces that actively support these individuals.

The course began as a book with the same name by Nadim Adi, assistant professor in the Department of Interior Design at Texas State. It was co-written with Mais Aljunaidy, assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Texas State.

World Mental Health Day 🌎

Did you know this day started in 1992, when the World Federation for Mental Health launched it to shine a light on mental health issues around the globe?

In its earliest years, the day had no unified theme, but over time, it evolved into a global movement aimed at breaking stigma, opening conversation, and urging action.

But here’s the thing: mental health isn’t a once-a-year topic. It’s a daily reality.

To our Warriors: Veterans, first responders, supporters, some battles are fought in silence. The 3 a.m. thoughts. The heavy steps to the mirror. The days when the weight of grief, trauma, or doubt feels too much.

Today, we pause. We remember how far we’ve come. We commit to doing more.
