Our t-shirt fundraiser has reached its completion. We have greatly surpassed our goal! On behalf of the team I would like to thank the entire community and first responders who have supported us. These funds will greatly improve our training opportunities to better help us assist first responders in need. The shorts should print soon and ship before the end of the month.

One does not need to be physically present during a traumatic event, or to even know the victim of a trauma, in order for the event to cause significant mental health challenges.

The rate of PTSD across 911 dispatchers is estimated to be somewhere between 18-24%.

Unfortunately this group of first responders are often overlooked and the research is lagging in comparison to other professions.

This does not, however mean that our dispatchers have to suffer in scilence. If you or a loved one is suffering reach out to a peer supporter today and allow us to lend a compassionate ear.

If you are a 911 dispatcher in the Portage County area and would like to help, contact the peer support team and find out how you can help fellow first responders in their time of need.

This training helps Peer Supporters become familiar with the early signs of suicidal tendencies, and teaches them how to safely intervene and potential...

It's not uncommon for PTSD to be brushed off as a make-believe disorder.

The truth is that researchers have used brain imaging to discover PTSD causes identifiable changes to the brain.

In fact most mental illesses such as depression or anxiety are linked to some cause of physical change in the human body.

While many first responders suffer from some form of mental illness or addiction, they fear the social repercussions of seeking help.

You can help end the stigma of mental illness by spreading the word. Reach out to a Peer Supporter today to find out more.
