This past Friday, 1/16/26, the GRASP Coalition and Scratch Coalition of Southwest Council hosted our quarterly tri-county coalition meeting. We had a strong turnout of about 35 attendees who learned about Promises Behavioral Health, lead exposure and its' connection with substance use by Southern New Jersey Perinatal Cooperative, and updates from the coalitions. Thank you to all that attended and we are looking forward to a great year of substance use prevention!

Join us for our quarterly tri-county coalition meeting for a presentation provided by Kelly Danielson, M. Ed., from The Cooperative. Participants will gain an understanding of how preventing lead exposure supports healthier brain development and strengthens drug and alcohol prevention efforts.
Lunch is served between 12:00-12:30 and is sponsored by Promises Behavioral Health. Informative overview of Promises Behavioral Health’s programs and support services.

Did you know selling flavored vapes in New Jersey is illegal as of April 20, 2020?

This was done to keep youth away from highly addictive ni****ne products that are specifically targeting young people with attractive colors and flavors.

Why is this important?
Prevention of drug use later in life starts with delaying the use of any addictive substance in the developing adolescent brain.

If you see something, say something!
Businesses can be reported to NJ Division of Consumer Affairs or your local police, non-emergency line.

The owner of Glassboro Liquors allowed our group of 15 youth to implement an underage drinking prevention initiative called "Sticker Shock", which we place bright colored stickers on alcohol packages warning of fines associated with purchasing alcohol for minors and using a fake ID. The owner was welcoming and enthusiastic about participating in our cause. They take their responsibility of not serving minors seriously and are willing to let the community know their stance on this important issue. Thank you again to Glassboro Liquors!!!

Over the past few weeks, the GRASP Coalition provided the "Don't Get Vaped In" presentation to the students of Gateway Regional Middle School, impacting around 100 students! Furthermore, the GRASP Coalition provided cannabis education to middle school students in Deptford and Glassboro, again reaching 100s of students in both districts. Last night the GRASP Coalition implemented a "Drugs Over Dinner" substance use prevention initiative at Quincin Pizzeria and Spanish Food in Paulsboro Borough. Our 15 Incorruptible.us youth placed brightly colored stickers encouraging parents to talk with their children about substance use. Thank you to Quincin Pizzeria for having us! Thank you to those in attendance at today's GRASP Coalition September monthly meeting held at Living Proof Recovery Center on the campus of RCSJ Gloucester. We had an informative presentation from The Cooperative called "To***co 101" and discussed the goals and direction of the GRASP Coalition.
