This week, we proudly honor our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)—the backbone of The Arc of Somerset County. DSPs are mentors, advocates, teachers, caregivers, and friends. They support daily living needs, encourage independence, provide job coaching, assist with community activities, and ensure that every person we serve is valued and included.

What makes DSPs extraordinary is not just what they do, but why they do it. They believe in dignity, possibility, and inclusion. They show up every day with patience, compassion, and commitment, making a difference in both big and small ways.

We are profoundly grateful for our DSPs—not only during DSP Appreciation Week, but every single day of the year. Your dedication is the heart of our mission, and the lives you touch are forever enriched because of you.

Our Run Walk is growing! The Rockin' Breakfast Run on May 31st was a fabulous day despite a little drizzle! The rain held out, and we had a record number of participants for the Run and Walk, 330! Thank you to everyone who sponsored, ran, walked, and volunteered! Many fabulous photos of the race, the fun, and the camaraderie can be found here.

The Rockin' Breakfast Run 5K - Step Up for The Arc of Somerset County! is on Saturday May 31, 2025. It includes the following events: 5K Run 9 am Start and Walk 10:30 am Start.

Advocate to Reinstate Funding in FY26 Budget for People w/ IDD.

Tell the Senate President, Assembly Speaker and Budget Committee Chairs that we need to reinstate critical funding for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities that was cut in the FY26 Budget.

This includes:
*Transition services from school to adult life.
*Behavioral and psychiatric services for people with IDD.
*Summer Camp for children with IDD.
Advocate now!

I just took action to support funding in the FY25 Budget that will benefit people with IDD and you can too!

We had an incredible day for the 7th Annual Clubs for Cabins in support of Camp Jotoni on October 14, 2024. The day started out beautiful and got "alittle" windy but our golfers stuck with it.
